Help on a new web-comic review project.

Post by Mr_Kipplentoast »

Okay gang, I just wanted to sound this idea out before I even begin to attempt something this goofy, so let me know what you think.

I apprently have to much time on my hands because I'm fooling around with the idea of setting up a review site. However, I'd like to move away from some of the other comics that typically (and deservedly so...) score reviews. I'd like to tackle some of the underdogs out there. Those tiny tiny comics that are pretty much blips on our repective radar.

I was thinking of focusing on keenspace sites at first... (The guide is pretty helpfull in this respect) and I have a bit of a criterion.

Like I said, this is a goofy project, and I know it's going to most likely be a big waste of my time... all that being said I'm going to give it a shot anyway.

So to help me out, give me those links you've all been hoarding. I know you have 'em. Here's that criterion I mentioned.

1)I'd like comics that have no less then ten comics in the archive.
That's right, I'll form an opinion on very little. I'm judgemental that way.
2)If it's ever had a review before, I don't want it.
Pretty self explanitory.
3) Let's try and shoot for comics with less than 400 uniques a month.
You know who you are. If you have no idea how many uniques a site gets, but you want to submit the site... post a link. I'll email them, and ask.
4) I'd also like it if the comics submitted are still updating.

So post those link, and I'll be sure to let you all know when I have a nice, clean, well edited blog going.

As for the why? Well, that's a bit tricky. I'm not entirely sure myself... but it has something to do with the fact that it seems that whenever I see a spotlight thread or a link request thread I see the same comics over and over. Most of these comics are fantastic, and highly recomended reads, but I'd like to see something new. I'm determined to find a gem hidden out there.

I'm determined to schlep completely through the second half of the pages loaded part of the guide to unearth the best keep secrets of Keenspace.

Of course, I'm most likely fooling myself, and the reality of the situation is that I'm going to eventually drive myself mad.

So if you have any links that fit the criteria, please post 'em and help make this experiment a little less painful.

I am not sure if any of the keenspace comics I read have been reviewed before.. but..

School Spirit - The Aussie-est Comic on keenspace :)
Slack As - have a laugh at their expense.

spacers I have nothing to do with..
Pointless - the reason I finally decided to make my own comic. Derenge's Archive are nothing but inspiration
Cortland - He needs all the help he can get. Poor guy. ;)
LowRoad 75 - Another fellow Aussie who is completely nuts, but he sure draws pretty!

hope this is what yo uare looking for.

EDIT: messed up some BBC. Fixed now, I hope.

Ooo Ooo, do me do me!

I think I have 11 comics in the archive, but I'll gladly delete one for a review.

Whoa! Sign me up! http://warofwinds.keenspace.com
I get on average 6 hits a day, and though it's sad to say, half of them are me . Still updating 2x a week, and I have 39 pages up.

PS- I assume "no less than 10 comics" means having more is ok...?

As well as a pair of balls that need protecting.... I'm just a hopeless romantic sometimes.

BTW I get between 20-30 hits a day, and I got I think 83 comics up.

It's not such a goofy idea. KrisX has been running a review site for a little while now.
I think it's a pretty good idea, if you have the time. It helps to spread the word about comics which may or may not have gotten enough publicity already.

Pimpette & Associates has just emerged from its vacation (aka not-a-hiatus-i-swear!), and will be doing regular updates again. I welcome any reviews, as I haven't had one yet (that I know of, anyway) :D

Just don't tell me I need more pimping. I'm getting to that. =D

Try Tales of the Questor. It's a nice enough comic that I never seem to hear anyone mention ... so yeah.

These Days...the comic I never actually advertise... *shrug* I average about 25 visits a day and have...I think about 37 pages up. Have never been reviewed.

And, here's another comic I haven't quite finished reading yet but found interesting:

My banner should be below. Just wait untill I finish this arc before you do a review. That's when I start to, you know, explain things.

Me, me.

I did have a review...but I wouldn't call it an 'official' review by KrisX. The comic is still in it's infant phase and doesn't have uber amounts of people. According to my stats, I get around 300-500 uniques.
