Let's have an Art Show!

Just an idea, but then I have lots of ideas, and I have to share some of them.

I think it would be fun to have an art contest, where everyone who wishes to participate submits some form of art they've done. Then we could take nominations for the best five or ten, and then create a poll for people to vote.

The submitted artwork can be any format in any medium... a sketch, inked drawing, painting, CG art, a panel from a comic, a full page from a comic, etc etc etc.

If you are opposed to the idea of turning it into a competition, please say so but post your best/favorite artwork anyway. Also, if nobody likes the idea of it being a contest, we can always just have it be a place to show off our best work.

I really don't like the idea of a contest, mostly because I'd lose in a heartbeat, but also because I see a lot of people who are amazing in different ways. How would one arbitrarily determine which was best?

(And if you doubt my claim of bad art, that's my latest thing, and I've seen Turnsky whip out better things in less than an hour with his tablet.)

It's a very well drawn mushroom cloud though.
Well, I didn't exactly draw it (I can't draw). I use Photoshop to turn a photograph into outlines, and then I color it.[/i]

Edit: Ahaha, missed your link the first time, Lupe. That looks good. Sure, the lines aren't perfect (pffft) but you've done a really nice job coloring it.

Collapse's style is really interesting with the photographs as the base. In fact, I think the picture I'm using as my wallpaper is the same one he used to make that picture.

No worries...I'll join in for a lark...

Sorry for any lack of quality...I had this framed before I had a chance to scan it, so this is the best I can do with a digital photo touched up afterwards, but you get the idea hopefully...

Done only in pencil April 2003...haven't managed to sit down and do another since though...
