I can't list our comic there anyway...it doesn't fit into any of their little colour-coded categories...what a bugger...guess I'll have to spend my $5 somewhere else...

...food would be best I think.

I like Onlinecomics.net's scheme better. You just pay for bigger promotion.

A lot of us got on before they started charging. I was lucky enough that whatever source they used for their initial listing of comics included me.

Yeah, same here.

I hate companies that offer services for free only to start charging for them after a while. If you ask me, it's not worth 5 bucks. I don't get all that many hits from there, and the only good thing about it is you can bookmark and track your favorite comics easily.

http://comics.dragonwire.org - Offers the same service for free.

It'd be great for you, Pin. I've found it most useful for the more rarely updated comics.

I mentioned on the forum there that it seems very mercenary to charge people who are spending a lot of time to provide free entertainment for a service which, in internet terms, should be a free one anyway.*

* Meaning that it's in the sort of range of usefullness and effort that you would normally expect to be given free on the web even if it wouldn't be in real life.

Naw. My comic updates every monday without a fail for almost a year now. Granted, in the future I'll prolly have to change my schedule, it's taking me moe than a week to draw a page.

But you gave me an idea, tho. I'm so going to their forum and endorsing what you said.

Doesn't matter if you're always on time. It's just easier not having to remember which comics update weekly, weekdays, M-W-F, TU-TH and what ever else there is. I mean, lots of people read fifty comics or so, simply because it's so easy. I've started reading more because of the list. If it vanished, I'd cull my bookmarks simply because it's not convenient any more.

It's... The difference between a comics page in a paper and a comic every five pages.

'Bin there. Done that. I could use support though. Image

You know with all these services to help promote comics, this would be good to add to a sticky or a thread just about the best and worst places to list comics to help us noobs with our webcomic promotion.

I just went there.... it's only $5 if you want listed within 48 hours. It still looks free for the "we'll get it on there, but it might take a couple weeks" link.

I don't get many hits from there, but I do get a few.

They must have just added that box back... when I checked it this morning the free submission had been temporarily removed while they got through all the free ones they already had to add.

It's the thong bikini everyone in Brasil wears that has kept you posting so regular, hasn't it?

Yep, I added myself there while it was still free, or totally free or whatever it isn't now. Actually, I think I get decent hits from there.

Totally. Besides, such directory wouldn't be very useful since it'd list not too many comics. Of course there's that line of thinking "if they can chip in for 5$ than they probably do it more professionally." But if I got 5$ for advertising my comic, I'd probably spend it somewhere else.

Lies! I've never seen girls using thongs around here. At least not one of those obscene thongs anyway. You people have no shame!

Actually, that's different. The Jaded is still free to a degree. The thing is that you needed to read all the previous updates to get it.

You're welcome. There are very few listings I took the time to add my comic myself. Most of the time my readers do it for me (everytime you see my comic listed as furry, it's one of my readers rating it... )
Here's another one : http://www.comic-nation.com

I would save my money to get onto Ghastly's advertisement space.
