With Mixed Feelings (Big news re: UNA Frontiers)

What do you do when you have a big announcement to make and you're
still wrestling with it? I'm finally about to let you in on something
that's been going on about a month - I'm making the official,
press-release announcement next week but I wanted those who have
welcomed me and supported me on DD and KS to be among the first to know.

When I came home after a Saturday night out with friends on June 12 and
checked my email, there was a message waiting for me from Graphic
Smash (pro comics subscription-based site for those not familiar), offering a place for UNA Frontiers in their lineup. After thinking it over for two weeks, I realized that I wasn't in a personal or professional position to turn
that down.

Now, I have a good reason to be happy, but there's also sadness involved since it means big changes for my present sites. I will have to close my archives soon  and if some of you who have been following UNAF would rather move on than stay, I understand. It is going to be a huge adjustment. I will try to get Chapter 8 completed on Drunk Duck, so in the meantime you want to read the next two archived chapters after the one currently running on KS, do so now. As always, I thank you for your input and your support.

I know how you must be feeling Amber (hope you don't mind my nicknaming your nickname). I went through it myself:

On one hand I'm pretty darned happy to have you aboard with us on Grpahic Smash (join the collective, yesss!). On the other hand, I think Keenspace and DD will hate to lose you.

But just remember, it's your comic in the end. Congrats, well done, and guess I'll see you on GS in a bit ;)

Hey, GREAT...and CONGRATS! One more reason to have Graphic Smash on my links list...
Wait a second.
Question: you're on the Buzzcomix review list, and someone just had to drop out. Should we move you up, before we can't see the archives once you make the move to Graphic Smash? This is a special circumstance, I think it shouldn't be any problem. (Besides, I moderate.)
When will you make the move?----Al

Go ahead, move me up. The time frame for the move may be anywhere from a week to a month, though I am going to try to finish Chapter 8 on DD for the sake of the Duckers and other readers currently following. I'll try to put in my own contributions to the review board. Already got one...

Phalanx: May I call you Amber?
Amberchrove: Sure.
Phalanx: Ok, then, Ambie... you don't mind calling you Ambie?
Amber: No, I don't.
Phalanx: Are you sure you don't mind?
Amber: No, go ahead.
Phalanx: So, Ambie-Wambie...
Amber: Wait, wait! I don't want you to call me Ambie-Wambie!
Phalanx: Ambushka?
Amber: No, no Ambushka either!
Phalanx: Ambie-baby?

I just got my account info from the GS people, but it'll be a while before I get up to speed on it and be perfectly ready to move over, so there's still time.

Congratulations. Your comic has reached the next level of webcomic-dom. The only place left for you to go is to quit your day job and have your fans support you ala Megatokyo and Something Positive.

Why would anyone agree to sign up for being part of a subscription comic circle? The whole point of webcomics is that they are free.

As for offers, my art/webdesign/etc services have been courted as of late by some very surprising and big high profile gaming related sites...tho Im not one to brag. *evil laugh*
