There are reports that Saddam Hussein has been arrested after a raid. It is currently being confirmed.

I mean, sure, "DNA tests" were done on this "Saddam" fellow, but that didn't hold OJ!

It's a "plot" by the "US" "Government", just like the color "blue"

Doesn't anyone remember that thing about there being a bunch of people surgically altered to look like Saddam? We may just have one of them. For all we know there could be enough Saddams to populate a small city! Hmm... that seems a lot like Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions...

If Saddam was Agent Smith, does that make Bush Neo? And if so, can he fly too? Why hasn't he told us this, huh? Just cause of the panic that would ensue when it is discovered that this isn't the "real" world? Are Bush and the Saddam clones gonna have a huge battle royal in the rain? And.. bah, I'm tired of ranting...

Well, Bush and Keanu have similar speaking skills, which is to say, none. I'm fairly certain, though, that I'd not want to see Georgie in black leather. Ever.

I'm gonna recommend that this analogy be dropped immediately. No good can come of it.

For us, it changes nothing. We still defeated Iraq, the people who supported Bush will still support him, and the people who hated Bush will still find ways that he's not perfect.

... but in Iraq, things /will/ change. There were many people who wouldn't come forward with evidence, etc., who actually would, now that Hussein is out of the way. There's a mental difference between believing a dictator is gone for good and actually /knowing/ he won't come back. It's kind of like the surge of information that came in when Uday and Kusay (pardon the spelling) were found dead.

Showing someone captured alive does a LOT to change the opinion of the masses, actually. Because Hitler commited suicide, instead of being caputred, there were thousands of people who believe he was still alive, even decades after he was dead. Do I even need to mention the rampant Elvis, or now, Tupac fans, having not witnessed an official funeral, still refuse to believe that they are dead? Granted, Tupac coming out with new albums is a little suspicious, but still. Showing someone actually in custody, and knowing they can't come back, has to be great for the Iraqi people who, until now, weren't sure if things were just going to go right back to where they were, with the people who danced in the streets getting shot in a back alley somewhere.

It's kinda cool. I wonder what we're gonna do with him, though. I don't think we've ever actually caught a dictator before. Seems kinduva shame to just execute him after we're done with interrogations...
