An Update and New Style - Whaddaya think?

Post by ZOMBIE USER 12644 »

Actually, during X'mas, I've thought about switching to a new drawing style and also creating a bigger format for the comics. I will also be updating the site and stuff... so plugging it in to say I've updated. New look to see here:

So what do you guys think? The humor's gonna be better and I've practiced this look for a very long time (2 years already)... I'm quite satisfied, but what about you all?

A very nice, clean look there! :D I like the softer, "pencil-ly" look of the figure. I wouldn't mind seeing some background in your strip though, even if it was a solid color, to provide some more contrast.

Oo! Soft and fuzzy! I have to say, I like that sort of style. It's not as rigid as ink and it can achieve a sense of depth. Sounds a bit odd since I ink my comics, but I guess it all depends on what once's trying to go for.

Wow, I really like it! Couldn't say why exactly (besides it being nice and drawn well and all that obvious stuff...) He's a rather cute angry and disillusioned teacher though... ^^

Accidents happen. I was looking for a job and they offered me one. So for this year, and this year only... I'm a teacher.

I have to comment on the new style. That style rocks! Reminds me of the Marvel way ^_^. Ohhh and what are you teaching? Are you teaching a high school or elementary? Or... are you teaching Kendra the words of love?

*remembers there was an actual question that he forgot to answer*

Mal: I dig the style, I just think that you might need to tighten up the perspective, like with the shoulders.

JJ: I'm teaching High School Physics and Algebra II :P

Thanks guys for the advice and comments...

Yeah, I agree, the shoulder and perspective are a bit off... I'm gonna have to keep drawing then gradually getting it. It's still quite hard even after two years to do this, but I'm sure there'll be some more progress next year or this coming year, whatever. Practice doesn't make perfect, but will at least keep it from getting too screwed.

Heh, I don't think I'll ever ink any of my drawings again... I can never ink properly due to the fact I'm not good at varying line widths and stuff... but problem w/ pencil is that I have to correct the gamma a bit, oh well.

indy, this dude is actually a very unlucky math and physics teacher... there's no specification of which math he does though (maybe later it will be said). So g'luck to you if you do have high school kids making lame HW excuses or about 4-D dogs.

I like this new picture, but personally I think the style you normally use is more suiting for your characters because this one is so muscular that he looks as if he just might have a superhero costume on under his shirt. 8)
