This forum could use a little more civility

Is it just me, or has the general civility on this board gone down the tubes in the last week?

Nah, it's just the end of the month.
Seriously! At the beginning of the month, we're all nice as pie or something, but after the 20th of every month or so, we all get cranky for no reason. It's like we start out all optimistic, but we realize this month sucked, so we just want it over with.
Does anyone notice this besides me?

From what I've seen on the internet, I feel that this board is incredibly civil. The only time I've seen that drop is when someone comes in trying to "hire" a Keenspacer.

No one here outright flames or bashes each other or their comics, which is great. Kevin can start a "Is Sortelli a dick" poll and it's all in the name of good laughs. Certain things I won't mention have happened lately that detract from the civility a bit, but those are isolated things that shouldn't last too long.

Otherwise, I think this is a very tame, intelligent board.

Seriously, though, I think that like any group of people, we have ups and downs. The onset of autumn tends to lead to more down times, especially if you're a cash-strapped starving, student with little time to do anything (I mean, I'm slaking on my Latin homework from my station at work here...). It can make people cranky, and thus, we see the current mood of the forums. Everything will stabilize, it just takes time for things like that to happen

Yeah, the only lack of civility I ever notice around here is on those rare occasions when somebody posts a "want ad".

I think there was a time when you post a plug to a comic and then everybody says: "Keep up the good work". These days you get a real critic opinion. I like this much better.
