Canadian National Comic Book Expo.

Post by Ghastly »

Say, does Keen represent at the Canadian National Comic Book Expo in Toronto, or is the Sandiego convent the only one they do?

Anyone here ever been to that con? From what I've heard it tends to be over run with americans flocking to buy cheap comic books (eg. collectable comic books that sell in the states for $50 US sell at this convention for $50 Cnd. = big savings for american buyers).

I've never been to any sort of fan-based convention. I've been to audio-visual and music industry trade shows, but somehow I don't think that's quite the same as going to an anime/sci-fi/comics convention. Next summer I want to really try to attend at least one fan-based convention of some sort just to see and experience it. If Keen has a booth at the CNCBE then that would definetly push the odds in favour of a visit to that con since then I'd get to meet other Keen-folk.

Americans who want cheap comic books, appearently.

Oh, and cheap water, lumber, and electricity too. That is until G.W. taxes them all until they cost too much fo you which won't really stop them from being imported since the US already doesn't produce enough to meet its own needs.

Not to mention like almost every singer I really adore comes out of Canada.

What is it you guys do up there exactly? Breed for talent?

Given that Alanis Morissette, Celine Dion, and Loverboy are all Canadian, I'd say that's a "no".

Certainly Canada has produced some fine talent... but it's pumped out some real crap, too.

Personally, I'd rather have Moxy Fruvous, Cub, and Barenaked Ladies over Alanis, Celine, and Loverboy any ol' day, but that's just me.

Don't forget Jim Carrey and William Shatner! :D

The Canadian Nation Comic Book Expo, Canadian Nation Sci-Fi Expo and the Canadian Nation Anime expo are held every year in Toronto on the same date in the North Convention center.

There are many nerds from US, Canada and beyond.
Much merchandise is up for purchase.
KeenSpot does not support or attend it.

Hope this helps!

Holy crap! A comic, sci-fi, and anime convention all on the same day all in the same place? I'm surprised the sudden convergence of that many geeks in one location doesn't cause a gravitational influx that collapses into a sigularity so dense that not even broadband internet traffic can escape.

Well, Toronto is pretty dense most of the time anyway. :D

Don't forget Jacques Villneuve. Icy roads are perfect for dorifto action.

Ghastly: Anime convention too? Be sure to bring your camera! You might run into some real-life Freddies!

Since when was G.W. in control of Canada?

Uh huh, and what country hasn't pumped out a lot of crap?

Britney Spears? *puke*
Backstreet Boys? *regurgitate*
'N Stink?
Poop Daddy?
Notorious PIG?

Need I go on?

He's not. But that doesn't stop him from violating the free trade treaty to put a levy on softwood lumber imports from Canada which means Americans end up paying higher prices for their houses and other softwood products (the US does not produce enough softwood lumber to satisfy its building needs).

Honestly, I don't think there is one. Except for Finland. I don't think they make any music... they have air guitar championships there, for crying out loud. (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=s ... uitar_dc_1)

They have air band competitions in the US, too, too.

Yet another reason for the ever-convincing argument to not travel to the States.
