WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO STORY
Irnoically some of the less popular comics have a great story because the artists due to their limited drawing skills **cough** have to look else where to create a brilliant comic. My comic started off simplistic but i realised my "BIG" story would take too long to tell in this method so since easter I changed my comic style to elp the storyline... which I might add takes up my whole notice board with its complexity and mastery. ***Big Bow**

Now if only I could draw better

BIIIG MISTAKE
I meant to post this as a reply to some thread on how there are so few original stories out there and most of them are copies. Neway brief sumation.

I say bollocks there are tons of original ideas but some of those original ideas get overlooked because the drawing style isn't great. Oh well...

Considering that comics are a visual medium, I don't think that an emphasis on good art is misplaced. And by good art, I don't mean technically perfect draftsmanship or details out the wazoo.

Obviously, comics are visual, but they also contain words and story. There are many popular webcomics (and some newspaper strips) that have gorgeous, unique art but terrible sense of language or humor.

I understand that a comic with bland, uninteresting art is not going to stand out no matter how genius the writing is, but what irks me is the "cult of the line" (to which I am accusing nobody on these boards of belonging), that worships attractiveness of art above all else.

A good parallel is film. Obviously, a visual medium, but one with similar language and storytelling requirements. There are many beautiful movies in the world. One of the is "The Cell"--gorgeous image after gorgeous image...but a completely empty story and drab characters.

Gimme "Clerks" over that any day.

Thnkz guys but i'm tired of all this. I've been trying to get a reading auidence since last year. Now with an average of 3/4 people visist daily. All from somewhere. I have no repeat visitors as I see my referrals equals my vists. So this desicion which has taken me ages to make has been made.

My comic is stopping dead with a short no tahnk you note. On the 26th of this month. I don't have the energy or thre patience to do a comic every second day and not have anyone read it.

As far as my comic goes for hits a day I still don't know. The knowledge of hit counters still allude... And I don't actually know where I'm hosted from. I just said to my brother one day "Can you give me a domain name?" "Yes, here, enjoy." And I did... But he didn't give me anymore details than my password and log-in shiz o.@

I think I'm getting a few hits now and again... I think. But it's not important. What is important is that my art evolves and matures. Story's always a plus, but, meh, I just make it up as I go along. Seems to be working so far ^.^

Oh, wait, someone's supposed to be getting it on? Sorry, I'll keep quiet now...

First first:
It's a fact that in world of professional comics story is so underrated to art, that it makes them unbearrable. I don't have an impression that it's the case with internet comics. "Look what I brought home" it an obvious example, but I doubl that Maritza Camposs or Ian of "RPG world" would make a professional carrier either (sadly), because their drawings just don't fit the standards of american prof drawing.
Oh, and, isn't this a most dynamic and interesting thread we ever had: getting it on, quitting, all that keenspace is all about!

Besides, I'm not making my comic to tell jokes. I like to think of them as a pleasant bonus. By the end of the month my storyline will have begun and that's what I'm here for.

I just want to tell my fucked-up little story. I just want to revel in my personal little world. All I want is to watch my characters grow as though they were my children, and whether or not anyone reads it or not is of no concern to me.

Biggest piece of advice I can give you guys with not so popular comics
