The links are probably for spiders that don't respect no follow tags yet still take into account link-to's.

Yep. Even that kind of link will increase their ranking on search engines. Crappy sarch engines probably...

My only experience with telescope involved looking at the moon, which was cool since you can see craters and all, and straining my eyes to see saturn's rings, which was rather boring. A friend who owned telescope was such goody-two-shoe that he wouldn't even fix it so I can watch his neighbours. He was an astronomy afficionado all right, if he could spend hours watching at the sky as it is, comparing it with sky maps and looking for constelations, then having a chance to take a closer look at them was probably a blast.

Seriously do these pornbot spamming things really work? I've never heard of someone clicking on the link. But my logic tells me it must work if they are keeping it up so much throughout other internet forums.
The math would suggest they do.

It costs very little to advertise with a spam-bot. And if only 1 person in 100 actually clicks, and 1 person in 100 actually registers, that means for every 10,000 people who see your link, one registers. If you put out 100,000 links, and 10 people see them before they vanish because of moderators... that's 1,000,000 viewers, and potentially 100 new subscribers.

There's a reason that 60-some percent of the internet is porn. There's a market for it.

All the spyware these sites likely install on your computer would probably pad their profits margins, too.

At least the current porn entry starts off by offering us hard core cartoon porn. They're getting better at defining their audience. Now, if they get to where they offer how to classes on drawing hard core comic porn, you know they'll have tailored their porn spam to us completely.

If they offer hard core porno with superhero or LOtR theme, that'll be a smack in the middle.

Well, he isn't reading this thread. His two newest porn threads have no comic content at all.

Notified Admins; they'll wipe it soon.

they're just simple ones I found cruising the phpBB site. They were quite easy to install as well. One of them is the security question. Just have Cort browse http://www.phpbb.com/mods/ and he can find any neat thing he wants.

See, little questions that blocks bots. I didn't mean to install the "are you human" question twice, but I'm too lazy to fix it. :P It also blocks people who are too dumb to answer simple questions :D It doesn't stop people spammers though, but that's ok. Those are easier to handle.

That would be covered in the "too dumb" part. A highly intelligent Polish doctor that never learned what a baby dog is called, however, would be denied the fundamental right of posting on CJ's forums.

That's a setup line for a Polish joke if I've ever heard one.
