Girls vs Boys

I like to draw explosions. :P A male writer is probably more likely to provide a story with violent scenes than a female writer. Subject matter may play a significant role in the Writer/Artist match-up pattern we’re seeing.

I'm more curious as to why the male-writer/female-artist dynamic appears to be so pervasive. I can think of several comics that have this set-up, but off the top of my head I can't think of a mixed pairing where it is the other way around.
Our partnership in making WBK is actually female writer/male artist, although we are each doing a bit of both.

From a stereotypical point of view, I guess it shows.
