I'd like to:

1) Improve as an artist and storyteller (although I think my art has gotten sloppier since I started this gig)

2) Earn some recognition, "get my name out there"

3) Make a living, if not at this then at some art-related career that would allow me to tell my own stories

I'd have added "develop ripped abs," but that's a wishlist for a different-themed forum.

1) Actually complete a project. (Not that I never have, but I tend to start a lot of things I know I won't be able to finish, so I'm determined to see this one through. Luckily the story is quite short : P)

2) Add to my portfolio as I look for work as a designer of some sort (I'm sick of doing websites for a living.)

3) Get some practice for when I get pregnant, quit my job and start working on some actual books so I can work from home as I raise my kids.

Originally when I started my reasons were

1. I like to draw
2. I wanted to tell a story
3. I wanted to draw people hitting things.

I did all this with J&N. With Banished I'm not writing, and not much stuff gets hit, so I have to fall back on to number one. XD
Not that that's a bad thing, because

1. I like to draw

1. to pratice drawing with a deadline

2. to create a fan base so in the future publishing is easier

3. to show the world my characters
Could be worse; could be raining.

1) Fame. I'm shallow. I want kids in the playground to argue who's art is better, mine, or Jim Lee's. (Not quite at Jim's level yet, but it is forseeable in the near future...)

2) I'd be drawing anyway, but this way I actually get to show other people what gets draw'd. An unseen picture is a sad thing indeed. I like my fans to see pretty things.

3) It's all preparation for when I'm a bigshot comic book artist. It's gonna happen.

1) get these stupid ideas out of my head so they don't keep me up at night

2) hope for approval from people I don't know, since my friends seem to think everything I do is great (well, they won't say anything bad about me to my face, anyway)

3) Enlightenment. Drawing is kind of like meditation, so why the hell not?

1.To kinda improve on my art, whitch I'm geting there.

2. To try and learn to tell a story. Whitch I'm not that good to. -_-

3. To make people laugh. From what I hear, from the few people that have read some of it. I have accomplished that.

1. I want a comic I enjoy reading

2. I want a comic other people enjoy reading

3. At some point it'll be making enough money to at least pay for its domain name & hosting :)

A very good combo.

So it seems we all want the same things out of comics, essentially:

Talent
Money
Attention

1. Get these stories out of my head before they drive me insane.
2. Change the world.
3. Learn, so that my next project will be even better.

1) I've got a bazgillion and one ideas, and I figure this is the best way to get them into the open. Otherwise The Man reads my brain with his brain-reader(tm) and steals my ideas for his evil purposes....

I'M NOT CRAZY AT ALL!!!

2)Right now, I stink at backgrounds, perspective, and staying on-model. That can only change with practice, and this is that practice.

3) I need to expose my work to people who actually know something about art. My family is far too supportive of me.

Oh, and the weird looks i get when I try to explain what a webcomic is to someone who doesn't know. I just loooove those. :shifty:

1. Get some practice with my art and writing.

2. Cure my boredom.

3. Get some criticism from people that aren't my friends and family.

Well, I considered prostitution, but decided to write webcomics instead because the hours are better. Alas, my family was shocked and scandalized; it's one thing to have an accomplished whore in the family, but a comics writer? That's beyond the pale. <g>
