Re: Best Dressed Awards 2011
I could be a judge, I am a professional web dev. I suppose were looking at sites that "look cool" or are we talking efficient websites, which are two very different things.

I dunno. It's just counterintuitive to me... it seems removed from oop, and many things in it seem far from logical... in short I don't know it, and everybody's asking for it.

I think really the main reason is because just how well it works on just about any browser, and the strong plug in developer community. Its also supported by Microsoft, unlike many java libraries which I think is a big thing in its favour.

Oh it's a powerful tool, no doubt very impressive achievement by whoever made it. But it just seems so far removed from everything I've done before, what with obsessive chaining of functions replacing real programming structures, and many things seem like some arbitrary choices were made during development.

It can be used for a wide range of stuff, I use it when I need to. when I can't do it in more stable code. But its nice and not really all that difficult.

Is this still on? November 7 passed with no word one way or the other.
Actually, it doesn't matter to me if it is or not. I got the redesign thing going an' there's no stopping me! So, judge my site with whatever it has at the time you look.

I think Robot's been having some technical problems so somebody else might have to take over or we could just wait with this.

Chainsaws are a clumsy motivation tool, I'd suggest a slow acting poison instead.McDuffies wrote:Yes! As soon as he returns we'll force him to get back on this! *revs chainsaw*
