I HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN. I'M PUTTING THIS BEFORE THAT DUMB COMIC, REALLY! ;_;faub wrote:I was really hoping Soap Committee, RPin or Space Coyote would submit something to blow that away. Soap won't even update her comic. Space Coyote has misgivings about doing it and I haven't really heard from RPin lately. I think he's avoiding me (I'm not THAT evil! 8))

I'm late discovering this whole thing, but neat idea.
Let me see if I've got this straight:
B&W/grayscale comics should be 600 dpi,
3076x4759 pixels in size, including an 87 pixel trim
... and should be a basic "introduction" of our comic. Neh?
What's the ideal number of pages contributed for each comic? (1, 2, 3, etc.)
I think it'd be pretty fun to do, if you need more people on this. If you're all set, I won't bother.
I haven't read all 15 pages of this thread, so please don't flog me if I'm all wrong, here.
EDIT: After a little thought, I realized I suck at pimping my own comic... but I'll enjoy what you guys come up with regardless. So, never mind

I'm thinking of redoing this idea and drawing War seperately and then inviting people to draw their own characters for inclusion. Dunno how hard it would be to impose other people's drawings onto it. The idea involves a full upper torso of War to eliminate a lot of that black, and then I'll give out a bunch of 600dpi psds with various segments of War to impose your character over (eg. a length of War's finger to draw a character in a pose like cortland's or faubs).
Just playing around with ideas.

Oh yes, it's sketchy as sin. Obviously, the comic books/characters will be filled with the minicomic participants. This is going to be a doozy when I do the final draft.

Actually, the sketchiness looks kind of cool. The way it goes from really sketchy in the background to much more detailed in the foreground makes it look like the characters are developing as they come forward. It seems metaphoric of the comic making process.
Then again, I might be over analyzing it

Maybe. But...I mean...lookat'em! They're stick figures!
Unless everyone really really likes THAT, I don't see it going on a comic cover.

On-demand print
Titles titles titles... hmm... I still like Inkspace best, but I'll start thinkin'.
By the way, I just ordered the GAAK graphic novel from Lulu.com, which is a "free" on-demand self-publishing service, and the price was surprisingly reasonable considering they're going to print and bind the book before sending it to me. I haven't looked into all their details yet, but it looks like one other way we could actually see this sampler book in print without any overhead cost or closets full of unsold books. I think you mentioned ComicPress previously, Faub. Are there any plans on signing up with an on-demand print service like this?

Correct me if I've got something wrong here:
[quote="lulu.com"]
How do pricing and royalties work?
Lulu allows creators to set their own royalty on each product they offer through our site. Lulu's portion of each transaction is 20%. Pricing is a simple equation:
Price = Production Cost + Royalty + Lulu Fee (shipping is extra)
Anything beyond the production cost of an item is profit. The Lulu fee is 25% of the royalty you specify or 19
