If Bob had given it to War or Jops, they'd be the only ones in the poem since both can do magic when it comes to bullets and hitting many targets.
I was aiming for quite a few of the people who ended up getting in . . . but as anyone can see, my aim sucks. Sorry again to all the nobo- er . . . lesser-knowns who ended up with holes in them.

I think near miss just means that the miss was near you.
Also, questioning the logic of English is quite futile.
