Since so few people have submitted anything, I think it's safe to say the Sept 15 deadline is dead. I don't want to set another deadline because people will just wait until the last minute again. Please just get your submissions in as soon as you can. If it's now or sometime next week, that's probably okay.

Nothing new on the Keenspace name change. The thread on Keenspot is dead silent. It's probably worth waiting for a decision one way or the other, but like most anything keen....

There are a few interesting ideas for becoming a non-Keenspace group floating around.

In case nobody has seen them.

Has anybody thought about just making this a Doombees sampler?

I'm going to ask a stupid question.... do we need to e-mail the files to Faub or is a link to an uploaded location alright?

EDIT:
ok, here is a preview pic:

and here is a link to the big PNG:

I'm quite proud. I drew Lust without making the picture more than PG-13

Seems like the deadline for this will be moved back. Really interesting concept if it works out. At this phase it seems like there are enough people commited without me, but if any additional assistance is required I would be pleased to step in and do a page, wouldn't take me much time.

I am working really hard on my entry. Unlike my comic I'm drawing it by hand, and I'm trying to create 4 funny strips and funny art to go along. Is anyone actually doing a comic, or is it all ad pages?

I'm doing an actual comic. This weekend, I'm finally going to get around to doing it.

Yes, I'm not sure if we can accept that as it'd be damn near 100% ink coverage.

EDIT: Ok, a quick whiz through Photoshop reveals it's roughly 50% of the image is indistinguishable from black(black is 39% of the image on it's own), dark greys compose about 35% of the image, and the rest comes to about 15%. White accounts for 1% of the image. (ie. if you just printed in black, over half the page would be black ink and the other white).
I'm afraid that this page alone would cost around $0.20 to $0.25 to print.

In CJB's come, all the greys just about account for 40%. That's black through to very light grey. I'd say coverage is about 20%.

Coyotzin's, even though it uses a lot of black, only uses 30% black. I'd say coverage is about 40% at most.

It's not too bad. Switch to grayscale, make that red/black background a lighter grey/grey, make the fonts bigger so more of the white fonts absorb the black borders. Stuff like that.

MY TURN!!

Post by Cortland »

OK, now it's my turn! I did two pages. I hope you guys don't mind! They seem to compress really well. Faub said my villains needed more development, so I added a little backstory for them. Here are the low-res versions, with links to the 600 DPI TIFF files (between 100 and 200k compressed. GO LZW!)

Cortland, you need to plug your comic somewhere on those pages. I'd just include a logo and a link along the bottom of the last panel.

8) mmmm pages 8)
