I only recently made it to 400-500 visits per day. The comic turns two a week from today.

I refuse to be popular, it changes people and makes them throw money at others.

Heh, a week from today is both my six-month anniversary and my birthday. Freaky how things like that turn out.
I set my ATM card's number to "0001" because I'm number one!

At times I was working more on promoting and advertising my comics, I'd reach 600 visits a day top. But as soon as I'd stop promotion, visits would drop. I think I also alienated a lot of "mcDuffies" readers by it's end with my artwork.

....but then people might think your occupation as something more seedy than a coffee girl! D:
Caught in the headlamp glare of your own blinding vanity/Mesmerised by the stare of your shallow personality
Gorging the junk food of flattery you drag your fat ego around/Everyone floored by the battering you give to whoever's around

wooot, some people are so lucky to be able to buy advertising!

I hope there's a way to become popular without advertising... 8-)

This thread amuses me.
I read 500 unique hits in a day and I burst out laughing. I don't think I've had that many TOTAL! ROFLMAO!

"Unique hits"?

Throughout this thread I've gotten the impression that people are mixing their terms up or are unsure what these numbers mean. Some people seem to be talking about actual hits per day, some are talking average visits per day, some are talking about total number of readers, some I'm just not sure about.

I'm probably confused, since I check my "unique visitors" every day, but don't celebrate until my "average number of unique visitors per day" goes up.

I'm confused, but still amused.

Aw, I don't really care what the term means... either way, my numbers tell me that not enough people are reading! :)

It's not like it really matters anyway, it's just when you start comparing the numbers or making arbitrary milestones like "500" that knowing which number you're talking about matters at all.

For example: if one person reads through my entire archive in a day I get 500+ hits, one visit, one unique visitor and--if they come back--one new reader.

Last month I think I peaked at around 130 on a few days, but I usually hover around 90.

But the numbers are climbing!
