or dig up first comics, and see what we have.IVstudios wrote:This is fun to watch, even though I have no chance of compeating. I can barely remember what I posted a week ago, let alone other people.
Another idea that might be fun: digging up the first drawing someone posted on the forums and guessing who it belongs to.

Re: Guess the Noob
Mine probably worked because I registered during a period of time where new comic signups were disabled. It lasted between 6 months and a year and a huge wave of people joined up during that time or shortly afterwards. This is probably the rationale for Jops as well.VeryCuddlyCornpone wrote:It was tough to pick people because a lot of people had their first post be something to plug their comic that I couldn't really hide details of. Maybe next round I'll just pick a noob-ISH post, but not necessarily THE noob post.
It looks like from that signup wave, only myself, Jops, and MariaandMichelle are still left. That's kind of crazy when you consider there were like 30 forum regulars from that period at one time.

Re: Guess the Noob
Well, we don't know about you, Tero, but our "first" post isn't actually our first post. The real one (along with numerous others) was deleted in a bizarre forum purge that happened that fall. It is lost to the ages.
(It was also probably a plug ["SAK!" had started before the sign-up hold, in 2002, but we were too nervous to join the forums at that point].
We honestly don't remember, though.)

The Great October Crash of 2003 rears its ugly head again, I see. Also, about the comic signups being closed thing- I knew I wasn't crazy. (Yes, I admit to lurking for a period before signing up)

Robot the Pirate.
Space Princess.
spambot.
Dutch.
I heard legend of the horrors of 03 but I came in just after them I think. Though I do recall the demise of DNR complicating matters, though I forget when that was. 04?

Re: Guess the Noob
For the same reason I don't? It was too long ago and you get it mixed up with all the other great forum crashes that happened meanwhile?
Hey, who remembers the first KeenSpace index page? Before Kisai's guide, the one that had all the comics listed on it. I joined in something like 2001 and waited for very long for my comic to appear on it, then someone said that the page wasn't updated any longer. That was something like a year or so after founding Keenspace I think, and things were already poorly maintained (it got better later, though).

I always thought M&M to be from before that time.
As for the guessing:
1. McDuffies
2. has to be someone from after the name-change, Spaceprincess?
3. Spambot
4. Phactorri?
Re: Guess the Noob
I did too to be honest but the "joined" date lists them as 2003. Of course it could simply be incorrect.Jops wrote:I always thought M&M to be from before that time.
I also have no idea if that was my real first post or not. There's no way I could remember that far back.

I recall they got a new account where they swapped the order of their names. That fucked with me for a while there.Terotrous wrote:I did too to be honest but the "joined" date lists them as 2003. Of course it could simply be incorrect.Jops wrote:I always thought M&M to be from before that time.

Now know as merely "The Duck". Bah.
I figure Cookie's first post would be more hostile; she did join during the Drunk Duck war, after all.

I would guess Mo but it doesn't sound like something you would say in the middle of a war.
