You have to find out where the files are located, and then deal with each website to get those files deleted. There isn't an internet erase button, so to speak. Although, there may be companies you can hire that will do the grunt work for you.
Despite deleting these posts, pictures, files, etctera they will still exist for a time in Google Cache, and will always exist in the WayBack machine, as well as other archiving sites.
You can make it harder to find stuff you've put on the internet, but it's very difficult to wipe your presence off, once it's on.

I see...well crappers. I mean, I'm only on the first two pages, roughly, but it still sucks. If I could go back in time man...my lord. I would have never told yall anything about myself. And I don't mean that personally, but just for the reason of job hunting and things.

Yeah, political careers are kind of made or broken on public opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if potential employers in your field did an internet search to see if you were embarassing or not.
I'll never make president, unless they need a psychotic dictator. I wonder if North Korea is hiring?

You've got some stiff competition, like the chosen successor. Of course, as history and countless works of fiction have told us, if the only thing between you and your goal is the rightful owner, that obstacle can be overcome.Rkolter wrote:Yeah, political careers are kind of made or broken on public opinion. I can get away with blue hair and fun for at least a few more years, grassroots non-profit community advocates are expected to be eccentric. 'course the pay-off is the crappy pay.
the key thing to keep in mind is you're crafting a persona. you might not need to worry about deleting all your internet footprints, provided it fits with the personality you'd like your employers to see.

I'm a liberal female first generation Nigerian American Democrat in South Carolina with short natural hair and a funny name. I think its safe to assume I'll be on the bottom of any job pool around here. Hell, I'm shocked I even have my current interview! :OGrabmygoblin wrote:the key thing to keep in mind is you're crafting a persona. you might not need to worry about deleting all your internet footprints, provided it fits with the personality you'd like your employers to see.

Anyway, I'm sure a lot of the 'incriminating' stuff is under an internet handle. Senshi just has to worry about what's attached to her REAL name.

I have been researching the use of space as a method for body disposal.
With a little trigonom, etry, you can ensure the body is incinerated beyond even CSI's ability to reconstruct.

had a bit of fun tonight. Went out to see the dialogue between Clive Barker and Grant Morrison, at the Meltdown Comicshop on sunset. Never saw Clive Barker in person before so it made my week.

Re: Livejournal-style Whining Thread 2.0
Oy. I have a headache. I also had two serious nosebleeds today, it was THAT dry here. Really, it's just the first one never fully recovers, and for the rest of the day you gotta keep a towel handy. But, we did have the platoon cookout (which I paid for entirely out of pocket) and my Soldiers and NCOs got to eat hamburgers and steak (respectively) and socialize and have a barbecue. I played Risk, lost, and sat and joked with my Joes. I don't know if the headache is from blood loss (they were BAD nosebleeds), lack of sleep, stress, or not eating enough (I wolfed down two burgers and some cookies).
The stress is coming from a paragraph's worth of complaints which I typed out cause I needed to say it, but can't actually print as that's unprofessional.

Re: Livejournal-style Whining Thread 2.0
dude if you have nosebleed problems, get a cotton swab and swab the inside of your nose with neosporin. vaseline would also work, but it doesn't have the disinfectant stuff. basically that'll help your nose heal up and also keep moisture in there.
I know about nosebleeds because of living at high altitude, not from doing cocaine. In case anyone was suspicious.

Re: Livejournal-style Whining Thread 2.0
I just got back from a rock show with my Dad - the tickets were his father's day gift. The Zombies and the Yardbirds!
And because I don't go to rock shows often, I am now deaf.

Re: Livejournal-style Whining Thread 2.0
I had temporarily forgotten about the Yardbirds(reformed), and was stuck pondering "How did they manage to get any combination of Clapton/Page/Beck in the same place and subdue their egos enough to bill it as just The Yardbirds?"
