If I had to put my money down, I'd say that he will contact you again. It seems to me if he's the type willing to forge a letter he's probably the type who has to save face and doesn't know when to cut his losses.

I still say, turn the tables on him. If it turns out he does not respond, push him - keep asking, and asking, and asking, and asking for the information until you back him into a corner like a frightened rat.

Then get mean.

He's probably weighing if you'd look up his lawyer if he gave you a fake firm name, or if you'd call them if he gave you a real name. I personally believe that he doesn't know if you're calling his bluff or if he should call yours.

Oh, I'd definitely call. Well maybe not call as that could potentially cost a bit of money depending on what state he's in. But I'd definitely send him a letter or something.

This is why I love having a cell. Everything is local, and I'd call in a second.

Huh. Well, if I were you, I'd actually do something about this personally. Just ignoring him and letting him off seems somewhat unfair. He desrves to be punished for this type of abuse and hell, you might even make some money off him for unneded emotional stress or some other thing. Hell, with the way the legal system is, I'm sure there's a way to squeeze something out of this little booger.

But that's just me. I'm not prone to letting people screw around with other people and get away with it, if nothing else just to stop him from trying this on anyone else. Not to mention, what he's doing IS illgal. At the very least he should have to pay the fine or go to jail.

A lot of actual trademarks really don't stand up to scrutiny if and when they're ever brought to court...

Maybe Canadian plans are different?

Hey, Verizon! I can call you for free! :)

I'm on the same plan Warren is except I get 50 minutes less, but two phones.

You are right. Cease and Desist letters hold no legal power whatsoever, and in fact can be written by anyone, although in this case that person did imply that letter was endorsed by a lawyer, and as some pointed that out it is illegal to pretend to be one.

Also, someone else spoke of a site that helps people being bullied by C&D letters. They might as well be talking of chillingeffects.org, although the site focus on real C&D cases, which is obviously not this case. I think you can deal with this person yourself.
