Flood control would be a nice start, but the current spammers are going unchecked. A few have been posting for days now without being banned.

I'm not sure how that would help, either.

One thing that I would recommend is to limit the amount of topics people can create and the messages they can post for the first little while. I'd probably recommend allowing only one post per day for the first day, and for the first week 1 topic per day and 5 posts.

Granted I don't know if this board even gives us the ability to set that up.

I've been away from forums for a few days.

When you flag them, that helps me a lot, specially if the spam is in already active thread, because those are harder to spot. So thanks.

Since I seem to be the only one currently dealing with it, yeah I think that another pair of hands could help. Ask Kelly, I'll back you up.

Mods can't ban anyone, and that's a problem if the admins are away.

Okay, I'm getting there.

Ahaugen and TiPhil should now be "standard" mods of GD. McDuffies I'm giving the ability to ban as a "full" mod. We'll see how it goes.

Nah, I might've been away from the board while this was happening but even after we talked about global mods, I never got any more jurisdiction.

McDuffies, for your first act as full mod, I'd like to recommend the banning of blibiscuiny. This one account has been responsible for a large majority of the spam and it still hasn't been blown up.

I third that, erased 8 of it's message in 2 days.

Might as well add Wolekiiosacs to the list of spambots.

Wow, the forum is actually looking pretty good right now. The only type of spam around is the kind that comes in a tin.

Do you think it's too early for the "Mission Accomplished" banner and photo-ops?
