What color do use for the background for your cells ie. the "empty space"?
I always go with black. I dunno, dark colors there kinda make me feel like the cells are more so connected then when I see bright ones.
I feel Brian Clevenger's 8-Bit Theater does this the best.
What do you guys/gals use?

Heh, I use white cause otherwise I'd have to use Photoshop to erase around *everything* (b&w scans).
Though, if I had a choice, I'd probably pick a darker color. They give a kind of blending sense, or something like that.

I do it in the background color of the particular story we're in. Each of the stories on my site has a different color.

White or crosshatching. I try to get a backround into every panel though. Comics without backrounds just look so goddamn bland.
GO FLOATING IN VOID! WOO!
GO FLOATING IN VOID! WOO!
Caught in the headlamp glare of your own blinding vanity/Mesmerised by the stare of your shallow personality
Gorging the junk food of flattery you drag your fat ego around/Everyone floored by the battering you give to whoever's around
Oh Narcissus you petulant child admiring yourself in the curve of my eyes/Oh Narcissus you angel beguiled unsated by self you do nothing but die

White, unless I'm feeling energetic.

Space around frames? White, usually.
Black is used when you want a dark, grim page. My problem with black is, it tends to make a mess when content of frames is black too, so you're not sure where the border of the frame is supposed to be. Strange, noone thought of making white borders on pages with black background.
I've also seen yellowish colour for comics that mimic some old, golden-age comics "Flick". I don't remember seeing any other colour used.
Thinking about it, colours like red or yellow would be too distracting. Imagine a screeming red wallpaper, you wouldn't enjoy sitting in that room, eh? Light blue would probably work, or any other light shade of colour.
