Guess this thread is just me being interested in people who do a comic with someone else, or multiple someone elses, and how people like to work - alone or in groups or the like.
And how do people like comics that are done by one person, as opposed to those done by lots together?
And other things of such excitement.
(Yes, I'm at work and wanting to read about people's comics...)
Both are pretty cool, unless the person you're working with isn't reliable, in which case it's freakin' stressful.
When working alone you have a bit more freedom, but sometimes it's not a good thing, so it all depends really.
Comics done by multiple people kinda irk me. Things like Comic Jams are a different matter, but on an actual comic the art style - assuming people drew it in turns - would be way to inconsistent for me.
My first webcomic I was the artist...and my writer was an ass...left a bad taste in my mouth so...never again...accept I was helping rock_dash for a bit (he needs new artists for anyone interested!!!!) but school and my many projects keeps me from doing that comic more...
so I go it alone...

I am the artist formerly known as M2
I collaborated on Comic Writer X and it was very fun, we were really getting along fine. I think that, being that each of us had some side projects, none of us were pushy to force our vision on others or something, so we either accepted or declined ideas annonimously.
I wouldn't mind writing or drawing for someone. The matter of fact is, though, that drawing is a slower process so I don't manage to draw everything I write in the first place.
The thing about group work is finding people who have similar work habits to you. For instance I found one of my best friends really irrating to work with because she always went home as soon as class was over, while I liked to do most of my work out of class (mid-evening is my peak creative time, while hers was mid afternoon) which I'm sure she found equally annoying!
I really enjoy some aspects of working with other people- It's great to be able to bounce ideas off each other and get instant feedback.
My some of my favourite comics White ninja and homestar runner (I know it's not really a comic more of a cartoon, but anway) are team efforts and it shows!
I almost got to do some writing for Shinedog except the bastard didn't offer up the position and so I missed out because he gave it to his significant other and that really sucked because I would have really enjoyed doing the writing part of another comic but NOOOOOO that bastard had to choose her over me but I'm not jaded no sir I am not jaded at all I would never wish all his pencils would break or anything...
Nah. RC's all my own. I get the questions from the audience.
Crossfire: "Thank you! That explains it very nicely, and in a language that someone other than a physicist can understand..."
Denial is not falsification. You can't avoid a fact just because you don't like it.
"Data" is not the plural of "anecdote"
Groups tend to rock, especially if one contributer is a strong writer and the other's a strong artist. When they divvy up the workload, quality increases. Each person concentrates solely on his part, so both the story and the art are well-done. (That's assuming, of course, it's a writer-artist combination.)
Me, though... I'm a tyrant to work with. I honestly could not subject an innocent person to my utter bitchiness. I may be evil, but I draw the line at cruel and unusual punishment.
Penny Arcade... Sublunary... Shonen-Ai Kudasai... All team efforts, and, as Princess so aptly put it, it shows!
This is going in my notebook titled "Things I Didn't Know about Surface Dwellers."

Is Penny-Arcade really a joint venture. I always saw it more as "Gabe" has talent and that other guy just posts annoying things, thinking he is the God of Stuff. Could just be me, though.

I would be a very difficult person to work with on a comic.

I visit for the comic, and stay for the rants. I occasionally enjoy the rants more than the actual comics.
I was under the impression that only Gabe worked on the actual strip. He even does strips where he makes fun of Tycho's attempts at doing so. Again, I could be wrong.
