Logs After the Switch

Post by The Neko »

Have anybody else's logs been weird since you switched? My visits seem to be the same, but files are around 0, and pages have become miniscule. I wonder if the logs are measuring the redirect instead of the site or something.

Would it have anything to do with using comicgen rather than comicgenesis?

Hmmmm...yeah, I bet a lot of your readers are still typing in Keenspace to get to your comic. That probably has something to do with it.

Speaking of screwy stats...the stupid Guide has had me stuck down on page 71 for over a week despite getting enough visits to qualify me for page 4 or 5 at least I'd say (based on past experience).

The script that tracks stats had stopped running on the 11th, and only got fixed last night. I originally thought it crashed, but it turns out it was turned off for some reason.

Well, the stats for me didn't crash on the 11th, all the weird things happened around the 22nd, which was when I switched. If the stats are set to check comicgenesis or keenspace instead of comicgen, would that change anything?

I have the same sort of thing at the moment. About 80 odd unique sites yesterday yet about six pages viewed. Dunno what it means at the moment.

And Jackhass, I've sort of had the same experience as you. Despite retaining current reader numbers and stuff (with the exception of the last few days) for most of July it says I've been up on page 32 instead of my regular 5. Again, dunno what the problem is there either, but I don't think it affects how many people read your stuff.
Remember when your imagination was real? When the day seemed
longer than it was, and tomorrow was always another game away?

I see...but my self-esteem rides entirely on how high I'm ranked in the guide! This page 71 nonsense just won't do!

Well, to be honest, this stuff and the guide stuff is hardly the most important things right now, since there's that whole "everyone needs to get their sites ready" crap going on. I mostly brought this up so it's out there and can be handled eventually.

Strange - I haven't seen any problems with my stats updating. I did notice the guide was a little funny before, but it seems OK now.

That can mean two things:

1. 3500 people thought "I'll read the whole archive" and only 992 stuck it out.
2. It's suddenly counting images' referrers.

My other host counts images, and onviously they're always referred from your site (or else they don't show up).
