Your comic in other media!

Post by MixedMyth »

Anyone else ever do stuff with their comic besides drawing? I'm sure a lot of people have...so put 'em up here!
I myself do a lot of sculpting. The following are sculptures I've done, mostly for sale on Ebay. Except Keeva (three months without payment? Yeah, didn't send her off).

Right now I'm trying to make some Mixed Myth miniatures and make molds of them, so I can make resin replicas. Mixed results so far, I'm afraid. But here's how Tamit's original greenstuff figure looks. She's the test one.

Pretty cool stuff.

I'm absolutely hopeless when it comes to 3 dimensional art (sculpting, carving and so on)...unless it's on a flat piece of paper or canvas I suck at it.

Hee hee! That rocks! Very nicely photoshoped.

Most of them are done with Sculpey III, a polymer clay. The last one is done with greenstuff- an epoxy compound used to make prototypes for pewter figurines, etc.

Just the primary school musical production last year and a few classroom displays featuring the kids. Other than that they crop up in lessons every now and then.

I've done some sculptures of characters in their animal forms:

I do sculpturing, but nothing that even looks like my characters... I like to stick to a minimalistic, smooth look so people don't discover how deeply I suck with details.

And wow, MixedMyth, those are amazing! :o How big are they in real life?

Try using a wood burning pen if you don't already, and if you do, get a smaller pen nib for it.

Hmm . . . I started a few full-text, novel-like versions of my comic back when I wasn't sure I could follow through with making an actual comic. They didn't make it very far . . . or through the opening scene at all.

That's about it, though.

About five or six inches at their longest/tallest point. Except for the last one of tamit. That's maybe about an inch tall.

Warofwinds- very cool! The musculature and poses look really great! Especially with glaze on 'em.

McDuffies....what we REALLY need is a crop circle of you. Then'll it'll be a downright phenominon!

All I've got so far are three sculptures of Turkish, one of which I posted on deviantart, here.
Of the other two, one (a Battle Turkish) was a present for my friend Jon, the other is still awaiting a couple more coats of paint.
I have begun work on a model of Turkish in Maya (3D program), and many people have heard me raving about my Pimpette-related sims in the Sims 2.
Also, I've been talking with a few friends about creating a Pimpette cartoon (that is, animation), for experimental and fun reasons.

There has also been talk of creating a Turkish plushie or two, but I may have to refer to someone else for the sewing bit - my stitching is godawful. Still.
Lots o' fun. :D

Eddy just shows up in random works of mine, and he's been animated for a couple tests, including live action/animation mix (nothing really exciting to look at).

Currently he's in the logo screen thing for my "production company", DaDa Posuer Productions. He waves back and forth.

Ms. Gashes, who is her own person (but I help her out when it comes to her comic) is the star of a short that recently won an award. Not really a major one, it was 2nd place for drama in the local film fest.

The download is about 12.5 megs

Windows media
Someday, someday I'll finish Confabulation. That day is not today, however.

I started making a Snowball dress up doll, but haven't got around to finishing it. There are some outfits but I haven't made a nice interface yet

Good topic.

I didn't make this, Justin did, but...customized Jenny Damien action figure.

He's also scuplted me a shadowbunny, and a Denny (which was subsequently decapitated by my cat o_O).
I adore the sculptures that have been posted - I wish I could sculpt. I've tried it and have zero aptitude - I think I am 3D dyslexic or something.

Mimo, I love your dressup game so far (and incidentally I really dig your comic). I'm also addicted to making comic-related dressup dolls - this is my newest one.

Ha ha! That's really great. I remember the Killroy one he did some time ago. What does he use, anyhow?
