* salivating over 8:1 *

* checks out the most recent update to Eight to One and claps feverishly *

I know it's just the intermission, but it's been a great show so far!
I'm really curious as to what Charles, Mary, and Lori will take out of their current interactions.
Duffy stated "the bitter aftertaste that comes hand-in-hand with bleak melodrama" in a manner which makes me assume he was insinuating that is what 8:1 is currently. I

If you ask me, the comics gotten better and better as time has gone on.
Caught in the headlamp glare of your own blinding vanity/Mesmerised by the stare of your shallow personality
Gorging the junk food of flattery you drag your fat ego around/Everyone floored by the battering you give to whoever's around
Oh Narcissus you petulant child admiring yourself in the curve of my eyes/Oh Narcissus you angel beguiled unsated by self you do nothing but die

So far of all the comics I've read 8:1 is probably my favorite. It seems so incredibly real. It's not some sort of cliched life the characters lead but it's lives that my friends have had. I think most people know what it's like to be in the situations his characters are in but at the same time it doesn't feel like "every other storyling about life". I dunno, I've always been immensly impressed with the comic and this is one comic that a hiatus will not kill my interest in, I'd check every Mon, Wed, Fri even if guest strips were not promised.

You've earned a break Duff, and excellent job!

I have to agree. I love 8:1 - the grittiness, the apathy, the quiet desperation and the depressing reality of it all... Man, can I relate. And it does indeed keep getting better and better as it progresses. I love it. Could eat it up with a spoon and call it breakfast.

This has always been one of my favorite comics. His art conveys mood unlike most others. It is one of those strips that I can't get enough of. I love it.

Actually Fanny, Steve's original 666 post occurred a while ago. He's just been milking it.

I'm a little surprised so many of you like 8:1 too. Maybe you all like it for different reasons. My greatest pleasure comes from the hope that all the events the three central characters have been experiencing lately will lead to an epiphany (for at least one of them) that will have me shouting at my monitor "YES! YES GADDAMN IT! <b>YES!</b> That's <i>PERFECT!</i>"

If this doesn't make that depressed dastard smile, nothing will.
What a rubbish signature.

I forsaw this, but since I can understand Jeremy not knowing, I won't go ahead with the rant I had pre-planned.

I was a little more comfortable with this idea, Vile, when it was an idea..... Ah well. It's cool

Thanks a lot, everyone. Something that could probably described as a smile has found itself on my face, so mission accomplished. (Sorry Vile, I'm not ticklish.)

I doubt I'll do anything that anyone deems "perfect." I just hope no to suck.

8:1 is one of my favorite comics to check every week. I drew some fanart for the comic too, in a caffine-induced haze. Keep up the great work, Yeahduff.
