Peer pressure.

Post by Corgan_dane »

On my comic's webcomic list page, it says:
"People who like this comic also like: Role of the Die, Because of Math Class, Mac Hall, Elf Only Inn, PVP Online"
Talk about running with the right crowd. I know those are probably randomly generated or something, but if not, and people think my comic belongs in the same group with those...I'm very happy. :D

Cool people also:
Smoke weed, drink alcohol, and have premarital sex.
C'mon, don't you want to be cool like everybody else? Don't be a fag, man! C'mon, do it!
Of course, I'm the one that isn't JP Sloan or Jim North.

I don't trust that listy thingo. When I looked at the list for mine, there wasn't one I was even interested in clicking on, let alone reading.

And I WRITE my comic! :)

I just looked at mine...

McDuffies, Beyond Reality, Reasoned Cognition, Deity Permit, The Noob

Now we can safely say those readers of my comic have good taste.

I think that recommended list thing is decided by what comics the people who have you on their favorites also have on their list. Since those comics are so popular, people are more likely to have them in their favorites so they're more likely to show up as the recommended. Even if they are nothing like your comic ^^;

I don't trust that list. When I refresh it, I keep getting the feeling that they just slammed all posters of this forum into one group and rotate them.

That's how EGS works, actually; Dan Shive puts up so many plot-based comics per week, and promises a certain number of side-gags as filler as well. I guess he counts them as two separate comics.

I got

Mac Hall, Dork Tower, Elf Only Inn, Ctrl+Alt+Delete

I'm not entirely sure what to think of that, but since Ctrl+Alt+Delete is currently #1 on that whole thing I'll take it as a compliment.

You talkin' a bundle of sticks or a cigarette?

Anyway, here's what they got Dim Bulb as:

VG Cats, Star Bored, Count Your Sheep, Calvin and Hobbes, Ghastly Comic

except we're: not as crazy as VG Cats, as well-done as Star Bored, as blue and 'Spotted as CYS, as retired as Calvin and Hobbes (though I do love the Calvin and Hobbes...), as full of tentacle rape as Ghastly, or as popular as any of them.

All in all, we're kinda like how I resemble a certain actor people keep comparing me to. We're like the ugly, less talented brothers of those comics.

I have all those on my list (except Because of Math Class) as well as your comic. Guess I'm to blame. Sorry 'bout that. :P

Here's mine: People who like this comic also like: Shifters, Chocolate Milkmaid, Star Cross'd Destiny, Antihero for Hire, Aikida.

I checked out the ones I hadn't heard of and that Chocolate Milkmaid is... some comic. NSFW... really. Yikes.

Edit: And the "people who like this comic" thing changes every time, though I'm not sure how they figure it out. Guess it reflects reader interests <_<

I'd trust that about as much as I trust that thing on Amazon: "users who bought this also liked..."

They're always way off.
