something awful!

Post by Xmung »

hey wow! someone with a HUGE website doesn't like Loxie & Zoot and were kind enough to post a link to it today... :D
just looking at the stats for this month...
1 4790 pages 1328 visits
2 2933 pages 815 visits
3 3135 pages 950 visits
4 5022 pages 1116 visits
5 4848 pages 1353 visits
6 39621 pages 3127 visits

the figures for 6 november were jaw-dropping enough until i realised that was just until 9am!

the site is something awful... (that's its name, not me being bitter!) and it would seem the guy who runs it ain't a big fan of webcomics anyway...

Loxie And Zoot - I'm aware that a number of you dislike webcomics in general, and I don't hold it against you with all that bad art, worse writing, and complete lack of awkward nudism. Loxie And Zoot is a webcomic that bravely overcomes one of these shortcomings. Can you guess which one it is?

A comic about nudists? Well... yeah! 'Cos nudists have adventures too, y'know. Loxie and Zoot just want to have fun in the sun... au naturel of course... but not if their arch-foe Tex Tyler and other prudes have a say in it.

If there was ever a time to side with a villain, it's right the fuck now.
all i can say is " " and "thanks for the link, bub!"
(i've had at least one person write to me to say they think l&z rocks!)

Loxie and Zoot ... cos nudists have adventures too y'know!

Those regular visitor numbers look pretty respectable, by the way. I wants'em!

What the hell is awkward nudism, anyway?

I was a little confused by the "awkward nudism" comment, too.

At least you got a lot of recognition from it. Maybe some of those people will like it.
But how can you not get recognized with a comic about nudists?

While I enjoy Something Awful, it's fairly obvious that their writers try not to weigh down their writing with more thought than is absolutely necessary.

There's no accounting for distaste. Lemme take a look at your comic...

...hmm, well drawn, funny, about nudists...

Well, you've just gained a fan in me!

I've been checking on L&Z for a while now, and have seriously considered putting it in my regular reading list. It's a lot like if Archie comics did a nudist comic . . . and managed to do it several hundred times better than they do their regular comics, of course. ;)

and what is up with that... below lampooning L&z they decide to go after body modification. and I love the over abundence of words like "gay" and "retard" on the site...

... yes I'm being sarcastic.

I don't know, I think Somethingawful is pretty funny. They're pretty good at picking out trends that are stupid and laughable.

There's no accounting for taste. I read L&Z regularly and just got KW hooked :) It's one of the most adorable comics in our links! Congrats on the free publicity!

As authors it is our duty to create lovable enticing characters, and do horrible evil things to them.
I don't mind straight people, as long as they act gay in public.

Do a big and noticable plug for Magellen whilst you've got the readers.
