Well... not really, more just a play on the system with my characters, but YEAH! It's 3:30 and I need to be up for work in three hours, but I managed to finish a comic celebrating today's big event (It's the Presidential election, in case ya didn't notice the two old guys badgering on and on these past few months). Have a looky. Hope you like it.

Anyone else make any "politically charged" comics for today? I'm not trying to start any discussions over politics here, cuz that's already going on in the Off-Topic area. Just wanted to give people the opportunity to let everyone else know what they did for election day. Then again, I could be the only shmuck who bothered to do this. Blah, need sleep...

Tch...you guys have got it all wrong. Today's big event was the Melbourne Cup...Mikybe Diva won it back to back.

Whatever you're talking about couldn't be that important! This was the race that stops the nation! ;)

Silly Aussie, today is the day Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 comes out. There's nothing bigger than that.

As to "politically charged" comics, I didn't even do something special for my own birthday so I don't see a reason to start doing special stuff now.

Uh, well, yeah, actually. Blahsville's current major story arc has been about the city holding a mayoral election. We're letting the readers vote for the new mayor, starting today, with polls closing on thursday. Read up on the candidates and vote. :D

That's really cool. Do you have a plan set for each character that could win, or are you going to wing it once you figure out who won?

The answer to both questions is yes. Let's just say, we know what kind of administration each one of these guys would run. We also kind of think of it as oppurtunity for the fans to decide the direction and tone of the story, as there's a pretty strong indication of the way certain story elements would effect the comic's direction, based on the way the candidates have behaved throughout the preceding story arc.

It's all very vague and symbolic and culminates in me writing the next story arc in a frenzied all night panic when I find out whose won.

I've felt a general aura of dread around me for the past fourteen years. That's part of why I'll be going into counseling starting next week.

Electoral dread

Post by Glambourine »

Yeah, dread is totally the food on which we feast. It is the wine with which we wash down our feast. It is the toothpick we use to extract our feast from our molars several days later when we are trying to impress our dates, speculating with hope and terror about the possibility of tongue

I am really not looking forward to waking up tomorrow in the midst of four more years of the gradual destruction and stupidification of political discourse. I am hoping that won't be the case. I deliberately didn't write in "Satan" when I voted as a show of good faith, so I guess I've done my part to build a bridge to tomorrow.

Hey, I wouldn't have even known it was today if Google hadn't devoted a special logo to it...

You have no idea...

But now I'm not sure what to do. I have the Bush Elected comic and the Kerry Elected comic, and now the stupid TV tells me they won't know who actually won in at LEAST 11 days! Sigh... Although... In a way, this is good. I had some comics in English which I should really put up before I may or may not have to go Swedish...
