Egh, sorry for my mood earlier, I hope I didn't insult anybody.
But that is the kind of argument where every joke has a significant part of seriousness, no matter how well covered. You'll see two guys from two neighbour cities, arguing whose city is the best. And even though they're in joking tone, you just know that each one of them meant what he's saying. If argument lasts a bit longer, it inevitably goes from joke tone to serious tone, and finally to the real argument that you wouldn't want in a thread about parodying some stupid educational comics.

Oh. Someone totally needs to explain to me just what college is =)TOXIC AVENGER! wrote:Only 19? I'm 17 and I'm starting college on June 7 (going to community college for summer, then starting 4 year college this fall.)sippan wrote: But I'm only 19, so maybe I'm not supposed to have been to college.
*checks Swedish wiki site* "College doesn't really have a Swedish equivalent. Yaaay.
Here, poke it in where it belongs in this Swedes-in-school-explanation:
From age 7 to age 12 we go to what used to be called l

U of Iowa has an excellent medical program, and a fairly decent music program. As well as a >>student run<< campus bus system. I have a friend there, and it's hilarious to see her drive a huge bus, b/c she's so short.Digital War wrote:Why do people live in places like Arizona and Iowa?

Y'know what's fun? Exploding Tumble Weeds. You toss them at your enemy way before you get there, and the enemy captain is all "Private! Is anyone approaching?!" and the Private looks dumbly through his binoculars and sees nothing but a bunch of tumble weeds, conditioned by years of television, he assumes that means everything is desserted, and begins to report to his captain that nobody's out there, and they can all probably just relax for a while, because he doesn't think that anyone would reall-BOOM!!!!
Then the saguaro strike. It's totally cool.

By far the most dangerous thing IMHO he could do would be to plant prickly-pear bushes around and wait for unsuspecting victims to try to eat those pears.
The teensy little spines are almost invisible but will fill your mouth with pain for days on end. But the fruit is delicious, so they may become addicted, returning again and again to get a mouthful of agony and juicy goodness.

Or you could just, y'know, put fiberglass on their clothing. Either one.rkolter wrote:By far the most dangerous thing IMHO he could do would be to plant prickly-pear bushes around and wait for unsuspecting victims to try to eat those pears.

You'd be interested to know that that particular urban legend has been trampled to death repeatedly. And it made a cool crunchy-squishy noise.Mercury_Hat wrote:Or you could just give them a cactus full of HORRIBLE MAN-EATING SPIDERS and watch them as they try to figure out why the cactus is 'dancing'.

We call your gymasium our college ( 16-18 ) - That's where I'm stuck in a perpetual time loop at the moment - Three years and counting! ^_^
I'll get through it this year I'm sure (knock on wood) but I've got another year to go next. After that, it's the easy road for me; Game Animation degree here we come!
Either that or back to leeching off the family while I make the bestest mod EVAR. Seriously. It'll be uber. Now excuse me while I go whip Jaster.

British college has no graduation, just two years of hell then a letter through the post.
Just like most education now that I come to think of it. Actually calling the 16-18 thing college (which it is strictly speaking) is pretty confusing, even here, seeing as a lot of universities still call themselves colleges too. Woo yay for new systems!
And waitasec, why aren't you at uni? Don't you get paid to go to University good old Sweden or am I thinking of heaven?... We don't even get student grants like they do in the US! Scheisse student loans ;___;
