Folks, a few things:
1) Administrators hate to have "their users" go around them. And they talk to each other. If you start PMing Kisai, it'll probably tick her off, she'll tell StrRedWolf that people are PMing her without going into great detail, and StrRedWolf will be annoyed.
2) We really to this date do not know the actual reason for the ban. It might be because of the letter, but we don't know what was in it - knowing Vile, it could have been eloquent and well documented, or it could have threatened violence. Or possibly both. Or maybe, it wasn't the letter at all - it's entirely possible VT's been complained about by others. Or that VT's ip has been found hacking into keenspace. Or maybe StrRedWolf thinks "Vile" is a bad word. The fact is, we just don't know. Part of the letter I wrote asks for a reason so we can actually respond intelligently.
3) A lot of the messages about Vile, generally from the people who have befriended her online here, have been outright angry and unprofessional. Sure, it's an emotional situation. And it's not wrong for you to be pissed off. But the way to change things isn't through ranting. It's through calm, non-button-pushing, reasonable communication. To put it another way, nobody will take you seriously if you appear to go on a crusade (even if your anger is just parody). Eventually, you might succeed in getting yourself banned, and further cementing the ban on Vile.
4) I've been an administrator on various online systems (MUSEs, MUCKs, MUDs, BBSes, Q&A forums, etcetera) since the early 1980's. Being an administrator is a damn thankless job. There are a great many ways to get an UNreasonable response from an administrator; the only way to get a reasonable response is to act reasonable yourself.
So come on, let's try to keep this thread on topic; whether you agree, disagree, or don't care about the banning, post your position here, and briefly explain why you feel that way. If you have a strong opinion on the moving of topics and splitting of the forum, explain those briefly as well.

I find it somehow fitting that the last person to post in my keenforum has now been banned from the keenforums. Weeeeeeeeee!!!

Well said. While not a Vile fan by any means at the beginning, nothing I've seen lately merits banning.rkolter wrote:2) We really to this date do not know the actual reason for the ban.
I'm sure there's a reason.
Or is VT unbanned? You get a life and don't come here ONE WEEKEND and all Hell breaks loose!

Could you direct me to the "Free Speech Zones", Dubya?Superlance wrote: I would like to suggest to all of you that you let rkolter do all of the talking before you get yourself banned.

But seriously, I don't think it's all that important. Flamewars like this occur when any one party decides that an internet forum is anything more than an internet forum. If any one of us got banned, how long would it really take to find another unproductive diversion for ourselves, or to find someone else interesting to chat w/, perhaps even in the "Meat Realm".
[Tee hee, thnx VT, may your irreverence ruffle feathers for days to come, but for Edison's sake man/woman, get a hobby. Find me one too, will you? Things are too serious here.]

Being the spokesperson for a cause like this is like painting a big red target on yourself, giving people bows and arrows, glueing your body to a wall, and offering cash prizes to each person who sticks an arrow in you.
Besides, VT's being allowed back in, so I've heard. It leaves the question of why unanswered, but also moot.

THAT'S WHY WE NEVER SPEAK HIS NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!1@Matt Lim wrote:... and am now sorry that I ever gave him a hit.
Can we get an addendum to Godwin's Law? Anyone who compares trivial online administration issues in the Keenspace General Discussion Forum by name-dropping real-world political issues that are both more important by seven or eight orders of magnitude and pretty much unrelated to the topic at hand should be hit with sticks and/or lowered into a plastic shredder.

He's really surreal in his selfishness, especially considering that I've seen nothing but good from his brother. That's why I still haven't resolved with a theory that BC is actually a weird joke of Chris Crosby. I mean, a lots of thinks fit in:Matt Lim wrote:I did my research on the notorious Bobby Crosby through his various post and have come to the conclusion he has a real narcissist type of personality to the extreme. I also visited his website: P***** and am now sorry that I ever gave him a hit.
1. He's just too bad while the rest of his family that we know seems to be the totaly oposite.
2. We know about him from Superosity in the first place. As if someone was setting the stage for the plot.
3. He's portrayed in Superosity just the way he acts over the internet; And I direct contact he still seems more like a character of weird parody comic.
4. P***** drawing style resembles Superosity. Like a slakish version of Superosity, actually.
Makes you think.

What else would I be doing here besides watching all of you?

We took Vile into custody for making threats across the fenceline into US territory.
After we finish the interogation, we will release it.

Hm? Oh, you mean sticks were for me? I did mention some big political events once during all this thing, just because I think some rules can be aplied to microcommunities as well as for macrocommunities.Sortelli wrote:*covers ears* LA la LA LA LA la LAAAA MCDUFFIES I CAN'T HEAR YOU
*joins Mecha in the happy place* Sorry about the sticks, brah. No hard feelings, right?
