Was tripping down nostalgia lane recently, checking out Dominic Deegan (Michael Terracciano returned to that universe in 2019!) and such. I got to thinking about an old webcomic but try as I might I couldn't find search keys that would bring it up. Thought someone here might remember it.
It was a sci-fi comic, based on this planet that I think was called "Reality". The people there were generally just a little bit better socially than folks on earth - I recall one comic where they had tests to let people in, and only someone with empathy passed the test.
The primary characters were some kind of defending force that protected the world. OH! The president of Reality was... a sock puppet? Man, almost had it. The principal from My Hero Academia is destructively interfering.
There were other worlds, connected by corridors of some kind, which occasionally produced antagonists. Techworld? Gangsterworld? And some sort of insect that was Generally Bad. Later in the series they discovered each world had crystals at its core that defined the laws of physics in that world. I distinctly recall one rather sad arc where they ran across this world of catgirls that had lost their crystals, and it had just faded away.
Oddly, one of the few specific characters I recall is the Mutamancer, who had traveled the worlds in his/her youth changing people he/she didn't like willy nilly, transforming them into water and dispersing them or whatever, and now spent his/her older years with an apprentice trying to find everyone he/she had harmed and restoring them.
If that rings a bell for anyone, please send a flare.
Trying to recall an old webcomic
Re: Trying to recall an old webcomic
Found it! City of Reality! Not a CG comic. Looks like it died and the archives are lost to the world, alas.
Can't find how to retract the post.
