Gone Too Soon...

Post by Ideal Comics »

What are your favourite webcomics that either died in permanent Hiatus or just finished so long ago as to be forgotten?

Squid Ninja is one I liked. Quit updating right in the middle of a battle sequence.

I gave that a quick eyeball. I will have to add it to my list.

I really miss Green Avenger, not only because I think it ended too soon; but also because the archives are gone. Elf Only Inn is another one, along with Sortelli's lost 'Renaissance Ogre' and 'No Scrying'. And it would have been swell for Andy Mason to finish 'Special School'.

Ballad, by David Nytra (under the pen name "deadmouse") was absolutely gorgeous, and still one of my favorite comics of all time. It disappeared with the closure of Modern Tales, and now I wish I had saved every page. He's since gone on to make a couple of beautifully-illustrated children's books, so at least there's that.

Trying to remember the name of it, but it was about a guy named Dave and his wife (Beth?). Very simply drawn, in the gag-a-day format.

I loved it until it just stopped being updated in 2002 or so.

Also another by Dan Wolfe. The name escapes me right now, but the first wife actually bought me a coffee mug from the strip that I still use.

Twitter, Discord and Tumblr are where most of the still-active CGers are nowadays.

The Mulberry Gallows Project at http://www.mulberrygallows.com/ Generally speaking, I thought it was brilliant.

Weirdly, it died twice. Years ago, it went down, then returned in a slightly rebooted form with all the original strips gone. I liked the reboot, but I wish I could see that original run of strips again.
