It's been a long, long time since I've stopped by these forums, so I figured this thread was as good a place as any to say hello again.

So hi!

I've spent the last two years getting a credential and a job as a high school teacher (somehow I got roped into teaching drama even though I've never even taken an acting class before), so that, combined with the fact that our artist dropped off the face of the Earth, reappeared, asked to take a year off, completed one strip after that year was up, then disappeared again permanently, Steel Salvation has been on the shelf for pretty much that whole time.

The good news is that I make a half decent drama teacher (we just sold out our production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), AND we all decided to take the plunge and hire a new artist, so Steel Salvation is back in business!

Our new artist, Kenan Halilovic, is super professional, impeccably on time, and he can mimic our old artist's style while adding his own twist to it. Plus, he's *really* good with backgrounds and scale, which is something I've always wanted for our comic. I'd add a sample of our newest strips, but the attachment upload thingy doesn't seem to be cooperating, so here's a link to our latest completed, uploaded strip. He gets even better from here:

Hey, Rhys here. You all probably don't remember me (except for yeahduff, who I harrass on Facebook) but we had a comic here for a spell in 2006 (Forces of Good and Evil). I buzzed around the forums a bit before we decided to take our comic to our own hosting. I am still not sure whether that was a mistake. Anyway, we have been at the comic mostly since then, with a few punctuated hiatuses. Our current story arc is a techno-fantasy crossover tail co-starring Cortland (our whole comic is set in 2005, so our this story actually slides into the middle of Cortland's! It was hella fun to plot out)

Other than that, there is personal stuff that won't mean anything.
I have been thinking about the old days recently, and then suddenly remembered the password, so i thought i would check stuff out.

Via con Dios!

Wow, I miss you guys. The last time I saw many of you was about a decade ago in St. Louis. Since then, I got married and had a couple kids (Hannah, who just turned 6, and Aaron who's 3). I'm still living in Omaha and enjoying every minute of it. I have a blog to update the world on my boring life. Comic Genesis is in it, of course, if you want to look back at some our collective memories together. I also have all the photos from our meetups on my Flickr account. Internet is forever.

And I'm still drawing a comic called Out at Five, which gets updated on occasion. And I'm still a Cornstalker. Dammit.

Would this be a good time to mention that a brand new Cortland themed Out at Five arc launches in 2018? Because I am stoked about that!

AND we are expecting new 8:1 right, YeahDuff?

Been thinking about this place recently and I'm pleasantly surprised to see life once again pulsing though it's tubes. So life's been exciting for me the past couple years. Went back to school in the fall of 2014 to become a journalist, ran for the legislature again and helped elect a socialist provincial government in Alberta, served on my college's board of governors as the student representative for a year and got a paid trip to Winnipeg for the Canadian colleges and trade school national conference. Graduated in April of 2016 only to find that if I wanted a non-freelancing job with steady work and hours, I needed to move to small towns in northern BC or Saskatchewan WHERE THERE IS NO SUN!! So instead I went back to university. I'm currently halfway through a double degree in Political Science and History, finishing what I started as a directionless 18 year old way back in 2005 at Montana. Joined a fraternity and became their PR chair for 2017-2018 and I joined the Model United Nations Club and got to travel to Toronto and visit Pimpette. Spent the summer working for my school as a content creator in their Alumni office and got to tell some pretty cool stories. Met the love of my life my first year there, adopted a dog together, we're traveling to Thailand and Cambodia this August, and I'm gonna propose to her this April in Vegas :)

Anyways, if you're interested in how much better my writing has become, I've got a few links to my work.

Hmm... what's new with Warren?

Divorced. Married, re-divorced. Moved across the country, just because I wanted to. Had an unexpected surprise come along with someone who won't be Mrs. Warren #3.

I think the last time I had any significant contact with any of you was when a bunch of us crashed K-Dawg's house and invaded Toronto. I haven't really done much comic-making (obviously), but since then I've been back to school to get a degree in video game development. I managed to get a couple QA jobs, and for the last few years I've been in Portland, Oregon, taking a stab at the life of an indie game developer.

We're gearing up for a Kickstarter soon, so if anyone's interested in cute cartoon animals, pixel-art graphics, competitive gardening, or free-to-play family-friendly multiplayer mobile action games, consider backing Bloom Barrage - keep an eye on bit.do/bloombarrage for when we go live. We're even hosting a launch party if anyone's in the area.
If not, I'd appreciate it if you spread the word.

That's actually my current city. Probably only for another few months though.
