I have published a novel
Hi, I'm Jim Cleaveland, the creator of the webcomic "The Inexplicable Adventures of Bob" at http://bobadventures.comicgensis.com
Well, I have published a novel. It is now available in paperback or Kindle on Amazon.com at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RKUFTCW
It is the 24th century, and the Mennonites are still living much as they always have, even as the world around them has changed drastically, up to and including alien contact. "Paul" (his real name unpronounceable) is a member of a silicon-based race called the Jan, and he has settled on Earth as an act of penance for a crime he committed years ago. Here he meets Indira Fenstermacher, a young Mennonite woman who had left her town a decade earlier to travel the Earth and beyond, but who has now returned after a personal crisis. The two form a strong bond that endures over the changes of the coming years.
While I worked to make the science very solid, it is a story dealing primarily with issues of science and religion, guilt and forgiveness, and the nature of friendship and love.
It's only been up for a little over a week, and it's already received a very nice review. Check it out!

Why hello there, Mr. Duffy. Slowly but surely climbing up the hierarchy of the entertainment industry. This past Friday I worked on a shoot with P. Diddy, and on Saturday I went to a porn star party ahead of the AVNs, next week is off to Sundance. How many people can say that was their week?
How are my favorite Chicagoans? Plural because I am also curious about Mr. Peppermint Letdown.

Ha, awesome. Give my best to Mr. Combs next time you see him.
Things are pretty good over here. Still in the Chi, doing boring design work but drinking lots of whiskey on the weekends. Just got a pretty big freelance client that I'll be making drawings for, pretty excited about that.
Sublet is, of all things, a hockey enthusiast now. Saw him play in a league a couple months ago, one of the more surreal events of the last decade. I keep telling him to make more comics but he always has some excuse. Glad I'm not like that.

Senshi used to say I look like Chandler. Which, I dunno, maybe I do.
I think the team's gay, not the league? Not sure there are enough gay hockey enthusiasts in Chicago to fill a whole league, but what do I know. Anyway, yes.Toxic wrote:Is that the Gay Hockey league?
Not sure, I'm unfamiliar with the concept.McDuffies wrote:What is this? A conversation?

I'm having trouble remembering what you look like, are we friends on Facebook? (This is assuming you have one.)

I have fifty friends on Facebook. Apparently that's not a lot of friends.

That picture's from like fifty years ago by the way.
If you're confused, I'm the one not in black.

Yeah, that picture is really ancient. I think I remember first seeing it circa 2005. Thankfully, using sophisticated computer aging software I can create a representation of what you currently look like.

Yeah, I thought while attaching that photo "This is a good decision. I feel good about this."
The hair's about right anyway.

I thought I was doing well because I don't have a single gray hair at the advanced age of 28, and then I went without shaving for a bit and found about 70% of my facial hair had gone gray.

If my puckery friend pointed her eyes to her right she would see a few greys peaking out. I've had a lot of time to come to terms with this.
