I died in a past life.

Current excuse for not doing anything: My room and desk especially are too messy.

real reason: inertia, self doubt

Ah yes, inertia, my oldest frenemy. Lately for me I can't stop moving things to relax, but that will all be over soon.

Inertia is, of course, the bane of sloths everywhere. In other news, welcome back! I remember No Scrying was the very first comic I reviewed for WAY, and you've just reminded me to get caught up.

In other news, the art for our first strip is DONE! Excitement intensifies. It's gonna be so hard to wait for our buffer to build up before we start posting. What do you guys typically use as a buffer? Five strips? Ten strips? Granted, not all of you have the same update schedule or style of comic, I'm just curious to hear how you work. I don't think I can wait for more than a 10 strip buffer, and I'll likely explode if we don't start posting before then. The only problem is, Evan is currently working at a rate of 1.5 weeks per strip, and that's not gonna be sustainable in the long run. My plan for the moment is to see if I can motivate him up to 1 week per strip, and if we can keep up that pace over the next month, we may be able to sustain our update schedule without finishing half of Part 2 first.

Buffers? We don't need buffers! *straps on goggles and runs into a wall*

Can we at least get a preview? :3

Okay, so that's one for no buffers, to be substituted by strapping on goggles, slamming into a wall, and presumably passing out for weeks while your readership assumes you're dead

Alex actually came up with a plan to handle the launch of Part 2, and I think it'll allow me to keep my sanity. Starting November 14th, we're gonna marathon all of Part 1 on our Tumblr, posting one strip each day for 48 strips until, on the 49th day, we post the first strip of Part 2 on our main site. This way, we might snag a reader or two on Tumblr, people can get caught up again, and it'll give us an arbitrary-yet-tangible reason to wait. By January 1st, we should have about 10 strips done, and that sounds pretty comfortable to me.

Aaaaand I guess since you're twisting my arm and all, I can let one panel loose on the internet before then. We haven't put in the dialogue yet, hence the empty space.

I have a 40 page buffer, granted, this is because I draw a little faster than I update. and I've been building on this buffer since 2013. :P

I stopped drawing and hired an artist. Then my artist got too busy with his own comic and other projects. My comic is stalled out... but I did update the site design.

I'm planning to write a lot this month (maybe finally collect my short stories), but so far I'm 0/4 on writing days.

Missed a couple of updates due to being really quite busy in real life, but got back to it once I cleared a free weekend. I'm rapidly approaching the ending of Nailbat, and after that I'll at last return to doing Gritty City Stories. Also I realize that I've been posting AntiBunny comics sinc 2006, and drawing them since 2005 (I had a lot made before I launched the website), meaning I'm coming up on a freaking decade of doing this comic. I'm sure that's something that the one or two people who care about AntiBunny will be impressed by.

Last night I did a really labored sketch of the first page of the next scene. It took a lot of time for how little is actually on the page, but I wanted to make sure I did everything as best as possible because this is going to be one of those pages I can't just fix the skew of in GIMP if everyone comes out lopsided, just because of the way the layout is.

I know it's just the sketch and it's bound to get the life sucked out of it at some future stage, but I'm happy so far? Like, I didn't get anything right on the first try, but I just erased stuff I wasn't satisfied with over and over until I finally got it where it needed to be and it was worth the extra effort and time.

I won't have it up before thanksgiving, I'm sure, but it's nice to slowly be edging my way into the water again.

I have but all of abandoned my comic and it's characters. After I was promoted at work there was/is no time to draw a comic. I still draw but not like before.

Good for you mango man!!! I hope to be in that updating boat myself soon, things are picking up for a brief spell here it looks so who knows!

I have all the foregrounds inked for the next scene, now i just gotta go back in and knock out the backgrounds. Things have been moving faster than expected, though I'm keeping my hoeps down in terms of the idea that somethign will probably come along to kick the bike over soon. But on the bright side, it's not even 7 p.m. yet, so I can certainly accomplish at least SOMETHING tonight. My goal right now is to get at least either the next page's backgrounds done, or get a page's worth done out of the remaining two pages if I need to skip panels, or to pick colors for the scene. I get to finally use the Copics i bought a month and a half ago

Coloring is done, editing will happen soon :) Gah, it's so relieving having even just a mediocre grasp of coloring. It goes so, so much faster than it used to.

This one cityscape is far too built-up and dense to be chronistically correct. Oh well. I guess we can pretend it's in New York City.

I wish I didn't have to edit. I wish I could just scan it and have everyone gloss over the coloring mishaps and assorted line errors. For a traditional artist I sure make a shit traditional artist. The whole "coloring within the lines" thing just seems like too advanced a concept for me...

Part of me wants to scan it now but really, my scanner is so noisy, I'm so tired, and it's going to take just a smidgeling too long for my patience because of the shere number of speech bubbles. On the whole I'm pleased with how it came out as of yet but THERE'S ALWAYS ROOM LEFT FOR FUCKUPS!!!

I had something else I was thinking of to say, but it seems to have gone. Well, here's hoping I can get this shit up and running by tomorrow evening. That'd be cool.

Feels good to be posting again, though it's sad that readership doesn't ever pick up right away, at all. Tho I did have a reader come through last night and read like half of the whole comic which was cool.
