Re: What made YOU happy today?
Not really a happy feeling, but a content inner peace from a solemn occasion. Yom Kippur started at sundown, so another day of fasting and atoning for my sins.
Also got to play D&D, though they totally wiped out the ambush I had laid. Next time, less minions, or sooner, or in waves.

I finished my essay that's due in an hour. I was so pleased with myself that I began clapping after I finished the last sentence.

Dark chocolate helps reduce girls' monthly cramps. I heard it from a nurse.boldandbraveless wrote:Joining this forum!! J/K...chocolate made my day today. Ah, that sweet sensual happiness in solid form, always does the trick

Thanks for that gem of a tip! But now I'm stuck wondering, why were you talking to a nurse about girls' monthly cramps? You don't have to tell me that though, sometimes it's more fun to use my imagination to answer silly questionsDerek Dragomir wrote:Dark chocolate helps reduce girls' monthly cramps. Re: What made YOU happy today?
I have a friend that brought an 85% cocoa chocolate bar to class once. I tasted it and then wanted to edit undo. Oh, the bitterness. The friend continued to devour the chocolate happily.
It's a good theory, really. Eat food that only you enjoy, and never worry about the perils of sharing. Everybody wins! Kinda?

Re: What made YOU happy today?
Americans have been entirely corrupted on just what IS proper chocolate. Hershey's chocolate, the most common chocolate in America, uses a special method that produces a different flavor. Eat American chocolate, then eat European chocolate. COMPLETELY different. Not to mention that most milk chocolate is barely 25% cocoa in the US and dark chocolate requires as little as 35%.VeryCuddlyCornpone wrote:I have a friend that brought an 85% cocoa chocolate bar to class once. Chocolate in its purest form is incredibly bitter, so going from American grade purity to 85% is just gonna be a bad move. I suggest you develop your taste buds with 50-65% chocolates before moving to the more pure stuff. Also, dark chocolate pairs very well with a nice red wine as a dessert. Just chill the bar, bite off bits and eat with a sip of wine. It's yummy, and great for couples.
As to helping women during "that time", chocolate in its very pure forms contains anti-inflammatory properties, antioxidants, and pain relief capabilities. That's why its considered (again, in VERY pure forms) to actually be good for you in moderation. Wolfing a Hershey's bar, however, is not. Though the endorphins from the sugar gotta help.
