I'm not sure how many of these I've watched by now. I get really irritated by him yet I am also amused at the same time. Sometimes he's really funny but sometimes he just... kinda kills the joke.

My favorites are the one for Pagemaster (even though that movie is actually pretty good), Top 11 Nostalgic Mindfucks, the Drug Cartoon Special, and the Neverending Story.

Like? Dislike? Bueller?

That reminds me, I need to get back to watching AVGN again.

I don't watch this guy's videos because it makes me feel bad and sorry for him for being so damn unfunny.

I just did an archive trawl, and I have to say, he reminds me way too much of Andy Rooney. I'm sitting there, watching him rant about the plot holes in Saturday morning cartoons and video game movies, all I can think about is that he's well on his way to looking like this sixty years down the road:

I was wondering if that was the same Linkara.

I only really find him funny when he's reviewing something genuinely ridiculous, like the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon or the Mario Brother Super Show. When he's reviewing stuff that's bad because it's boring or bland or whatever it's kind of lame.

I think the Bum Reviews section's much funnier though.

Same here, but I couldn't bring myself to actually look at any of the stuff on that site to find out for sure.

Link's stuff is pretty tight, though truth be told it follows the "Angry Review Nerd" formula (which is QUICKLY becoming a giant internet cliche, one that may soon rival video game web comics*) without bringing anything new to the table save for a subject, comic books.

I rather like him, although I much prefer it when he rips the shows a new one bit by bit to when he goes into rage mode.

The Nostaliga Chick is probably my favorite on the site, but a lot of that has to do with her Anastasia review. That was golden.

I think he's ok for a few watches, I mean it's anti-comedy so you like him depending of how much you like watching anyone being intentionally irritating, and it's hit-and-miss. I don't like his catchphrases and outbursts, but I do like when he re-edits scenes from the film or does impersonations. So I guess I like to watch a few videos before his gimmicks get irritating and I quit. I give him credits that he managed to update MST3K formula.

I don't have much qualms about him leeching off of other people's work and kicking the dead horse, I mean I can't bring myself to pitty, say, creators of "Full House" for being ridiculed. I think perhaps if he was actually a critic, I'd find him leacherous and lazy, but he ain't a critic, he's a sort of stand-up comedian and films are only a vehicle for his sort of comedy, which you may or may not find funny. I don't think there's much in terms of personal opinion there, he trashes things that are commonly accepted as bad, and praises things that are commonly accepted as good. You won't find an opinion that isn't supported by cash register statistics there.

I do hate when he's giving positive reviews, swooning over things that suffer from the same flaws that he's criticizing in others, and I don't particularly like when he's trying to make serious points. I mean, I don't rely on him to make a point about whether old or new film version is better, not more than I need him to tell me that Double Dragon is a bad movie. Me liking the "reviews" really realies on believing that Nostalgia Critic is a role that this guy is playing and not his actual personality and opinions, and these "serious" moments spoil that impression.

I gotta admitt I've watched "Good Burger" review several times, I think it's rather funny, has better hit rate than most of reviews, and it helps that the film itself (like all of Kennan and Kell work) is so bad it's difficult to believe. On the other hand I rrreally hate "Last Action Hero" review, I think that he missed the point of the film so much that while watching, I had a feeling that the film manages to retroactively mock him.

I tried watching some other stuff on the site too, none of which is any funny (I didn't watch any of Linkara's though, frankly I didn't see a point of watching a video review of a comic). I can only guess that the criterium for getting on site is how much you kiss NC's ass, since they're all kis inferior knockoffs to begin with... I mean there's a guy who supposedly reviews horror films but he's so slow and inanimate that he can literally put you to sleep - seriously guy is one step short of clinically dead. Then the british guy who talks like he has a retainer in his mouth or something, so I can't understand most of what he's saying. It's really irritating when you're watching someone bashing entertainment while he himself hasn't handled basic skills of being an entertainer, such as speaking intelligibly.
I make exception for Nostalgia Chick, she's fun to watch because she's hot.

The guy is worth a few laughs, but no way would I even infer him being even some sort of 3rd cousin twice removed of MST3K
