My pepper plants are about 9 inches talk and have about twelve leaves each. They're taking off a little slower than I remember from last year, but I'm only about 40 days into the 90 days to first harvest cycle.

STARTING a garden? In late July? Man, that'd never work out here.Risky wrote:We just got around to starting our veggie garden (using plants since it's a bit late to spread seeds for summer produce). Keeping my fingers crossed.

The pepper and tomato plants we are transplanting already have fruit on them, so it's not like we are starting from scratch, but starting in March probably would have been smarter.Jesusabdullah wrote:STARTING a garden? I'm in charge of the garden here at the coop, but we're doing lead remediation on most of the plots, so all we're planting are wildflowers, sunflowers and spinach (not to eat, spinach just sucks more lead out of the soil than most other plants.)

Though, lead-filled spinach would certainly explain its effect on Popeye.Grabmygoblin wrote:I'm in charge of the garden here at the coop, but we're doing lead remediation on most of the plots, so all we're planting are wildflowers, sunflowers and spinach (not to eat, spinach just sucks more lead out of the soil than most other plants.)

Pictures:

Mom got me a new squash plant after I killed my old ones. It's pretty awesome!

This used to be in my computer case planter, but I'm gonna try keeping this one alive over the winter, so I transplanted it.

The lettuce and mustard I was talkin' about.

Peas and nasturtiums.

My compost pile.

Broccoli, kohlrabi and a napa cabbage.

We have lots of raspberries. I hate the fuckers as plants, but the berries are alright I guess.
