Yours is probably better.

I dunno, that sounds like it might just be . . . disturbing. Even if it really were about an actual hotdog in an literal hallway.TheSuburbanLetdown wrote:Hotdog Down a Hallway would be a better comic.
Alternative weeklies, yo. Much better than webcomics.Dreamaniaccomic wrote:The internet is the last chance to escape from this.

The last post to this thread was July 22nd. Your post was September 3rd, and didn't add anything to the discussion.Moder wrote:Also, although the strip is very similar, the punchline Is different (with fairly different meanings).
If you're going to rip off Calvin & Hobbes, you could at least do a good job of it.Picpak wrote:Ok, now this is just getting creepy:

I disagree. I added something important - my opinion. And I don't think 1 month Is too long.Rkolter wrote:The last post to this thread was July 22nd. This is called Thread Necromancy. Please refrain from posting in month-old or older threads unless you have something important to add to that discussion.
Thanks.

For what it's worth, I do run a Calvin and Hobbes website. However, the first strip I posted in this thread felt familiar to me, but for this one I had no recollection of it at all. And it's a lot more similar. It's just frustrating.McDuffies wrote:You should try looking for inspiration in other places than your favourite comics.
Are you looking at the same forum I am? Threads have been known to stick continuously around the forums for years, and topics last responded to a month ago are still hanging around on mid-Page 2 here on GD. Moder responded on-topic, and Picpak, the "subliminal" plagiarist himself, had added more to the thread even before Kolter got here, putting his admonishment a bit out of place.McDuffies wrote:Moder, one month is quite long on these forums. It's fast-going forum where threads get old in matter of weeks.

I don't want to fight, and I'm not making a big deal out of this, McDuffies. I just don't see how replying to a thread that's a mere thirty paces back from the top of the discussion queue, especially when the reply isn't terribly innocuous or off-topic, is considered necromancy.McDuffies wrote:Thread necromancy is a well established rule. It is standard that when someone breaks it, other forumers point it to him politely. See, "politely" is a key word, and noone was abusing Moder like you make it out to be. Simply enough, he wanted to argue about it, and I clarified that it's a forum rule and not just Rkolter's opinion. It's not a big deal - but you are making a big deal out of it.
Threads don't stick around for years. They usually get locked after 100 or so pages. If thread is here for a long time, that's because people continously post in it, not because it gets gessurected every two months. And we are talking about 10 or so pages in a forum that has tens of thousands threads.
If we're not looking at the same forum, I surely am not the one looking at the wrong one.
Hey guys. As Bustertheclown, I did not know the 1 month rule.McDuffies wrote:Moder, one month is quite long on these forums. It's fast-going forum where threads get old in matter of weeks.
By "adding something to discussion", we don't exactly mean someone's opinion. We mean some new information, some new development about the subject. And most of the times when you do have a sound reason to do a thread necromancy, just starting a new thread is better option.
Don't take it personal - it's just a general policy that allows this forum to function. Imagine if every newcomer was randomly picking months old threads just to add what they think - we would have problems following recent, relevant threads.
