Wow, I just realised I HAVE readers. I started working on my site again a few days ago, and my unique hits went from about 3 a day to 250 :|

I've noticed a rather nasty trend in my comic's readership:

from november to april I had a daily average of around 110 hits a day... indiviual unique hits.

but...

the last two months have been half that! first 58 average a day last month, and so far I'm looking at an even lower monthly average for this month!

is there a summer/winter cycle in comic readership? I can't really tell if there is that much of a trend, the CG viewstat thingy only goes for one year back.. on that thing I can only see that untill last november that I had an avg. daily readership of around 40-50...

trick is I can't remember further back from that myself, even though the comic has been going for over two years now...

I'd say it's more that with server issues the webtracker has been down, which means everyone's stats are lower than normal this month. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah, visits tend to drop a bit during summer, what with vacations and people spending more time out.

i have no idea what my "stats" are .. i know the numbers jump a bit but.. i have no clue how to read the webilizer even when it *was* working ...

i would be estatic if i got a piece of fan art or mail ( i doubt it will happen this century though) with the stigma that CGI seems to have --

bleh ..

*sigh* oh well time to go back to work -- :-?

My hits are actually slightly *up* this month, though there was really nowhere to go *but* up after such a lousy May.

I'm still waiting for popularity and hits from people who aren't *me*.

Yes, I feel like I account for most of my own hits. The truth is, in my case, I don't feel like my story really holds up with the first chapter incomplete... and that won't be done for, oh, I dunno, fourteen more comics or some such. Well, maybe it's better than that. Just gotta keep drawin' them pictures.

datachasers - I would feel a bit intimidated drawing fanart for a comic with shiny CGs like those. Is that what you were talking about when you mentioned the stigma of CG comics?

Lidell - I don't know how long popularity will take but I'm reading your comic now and I'm sure others will do the same soon so the hits will come.

I kinda seem to max out at about 180 unique hits a day (thanks to the Newsbox). I've never really been able to get much farther than that *sigh* ah well. SOMEDAY! *shakes fist*

Still about 80 odd a day here, but with the third anniversary running over the last week, despite a negligible response to various threads about it and news pieces I've submitted to other sites, the numbers have pushed up a bit recently. I think this month it's running at over 100, and was about 90ish the month before that, so slowly does it.

July and August will probably see it peter back to it's regular numbers though.

Got 984 view yesterday. Still trying to figure out how the heck it happened, as there aren't any new outstanding referrals. Just a whole bunch of direct requests...

Granted, I've peaked in the low 800s before, but almost 1000 views? Startling.

I think that probably means someone (or more) read through much of your archive that day. I don't think views means individual readers.

Not views exactly. Whatever the important number is. I know which one it is, I just can't recall the name of it. I don't use the CG stat thing so I only see the important number.

Since I started using Project Wonderful & bidding on ad space I had nearly 200 hits and over 400 pages viewed in one day. I just wish one of them would leave a comment or something....

More popular than mine.

...

~_~ (Not that I expect a three-week old comic with no humor and mediocre art to be very popular!)

I think my hits went up when folks finished their college finals.

Thats the only logical explanation, anyway.
