When do good webcomics end.......

Darn, yeah. :(

Also, As If! ran from April 2001 to March 2005. It was one of the first webcomics I read and I loved it, I was devastated when it ended. :( The artist had to end it because she needed to dedicate her time to something that might actually earn her money.

...kind of what I'm going through at the moment... :shifty:

Of course not! We'll see it through to the end not matter what.

Easy for us to say NOW, but...

1/0 is long since ended. It was the first webcomic I can honestly say I fell in love with, besides the comics of my friend Turbo. In fact, 1/0 is the reason why I joined up with Keenspace in the first place. Incidently, I guess Turbo's comics also qualify for this list, since she hasn't really posted a new comic in almost two years. People should read her stuff, though. I think it's some of the funniest stuff nobody has ever heard about.

You might be thinking of Full Story. It's more of an indexed list of links to finished comics than an archive, but it does its job.

I'd add Shayla the Pink Mouse and Sexy Losers as comics that have finished, but they're both porn so you may not be interested. :)

One comic that is gone that I remember fondly is Life of Riley. It was really good, and then it stopped updating in the middle of a story arc. Then, about a year later, the artist updated a few more comics, before stopping about a week later. I can't even get on the site anymore.

Yes, it was. I still chuckle over the Melting Pandas and the line "aahh! It's shredding my soul!"

I'd reread it if there was a copy of it anywhere. There was an archive version for a while but that disappeared and they guy who hosted it posted something on a message board saying he'd put it up somewhere else but ... doesn't seem to have.

I usually find comics after they've ended. The only comic I've read that has stopped updating comics is Badly Drawn Kitties.

I stand pleased and corrected.

The Class Meangerie was one of my favorites. I discovered the comic was at the end. When it ended the creator decide remove all the strips and re-release it in storyline "order." It was bad move because when it was re-posted there were quite few strips missing along not posting few storyline arcs as well. Glad I saved all the strips on my hard drive before all of it got taken down.

Queen of Wands has ended, though it's going through a not so rapidfire rapidfire rerun. Ran from 02 to 05 i think :]

personally, i hate it when they end but it's usually for the best if it's the intended ending.

that's the cool thing about mine, theoretically it'll never end.

so you could say i'm on "book one" of what's gonna be one hell of a long story.

Concerned just ended last week.

It looks like it might not be the end, but it is.

Timescapes died while I was out of commission. Angel Moxie has an actual beginning, plot and ending. Red Lexi never finished and I never went back to see the archives. Poisonwind started out good and then petered out. Cup of Sufering was a contemporary of mine. I even did some fan art for him. Jackie's Fridge was one of the comics that inspired me to do this. Tonja Steele was another. Element's Song was never finished. Misty the Mouse was very popular before it went belly up. Down to Earth was almost a respectable print comic for a while there.

Come to think of it PoF was a dead comic for three years. But I came back from the grave to spread sorrow and devastation once more!

Speaking of back from the dead, Elf Life is showing signs of picking itself up from the grave and shuffling off in search of brains.

I had a webcomic I liked dearly.
This is a rare thing, as I loathe most (or all) webcomics.
It was called CampusLife. An overdone theme about college life, maybe, but I liked it. It was funny. The stick figures were amusing. But then like..

It ended: http://campuslife.keenspace.com

End of for Newshounds (http://www.newshounds.com/) is coming. It's one of my first webcomics I read. Newshounds was one influences to draw and start my webcomic.

Hmmm. Yeah, I guess that I was a bit harsh. It just shows that I was a fan. In a way, you have a sort of obligation to the fans to finish what you've started. People care, and people get upset when you let them down. But still, once you hit the wall, there is no way to just pass through it.
I'm sorry, but I'm going have to disagree. If the comic is being made for free and being offered to the fans for free, the artist doesn't have an obligation to the fans AT ALL. Yes, the fans can be upset, hurt, disappointed, and all the sucky feelings that comes when a story you love isn't going to be finished. They have every right to be. But the artist owes them nothing.

Truth. The only webcomic artists that owe their fans anything at all are those few individuals living off their webcomic, IMO*.
