CG Link buttons.

Post by STrRedWolf »

Okay, time to make this call out to the community. We have folks asking for CG link buttons and banners. So? Make 'em and post 'em here! There's no offical button/banner as of yet, but if a majority of folks like a certian set... well, it is a community run site.

Common sizes:
Small: 88x31
Medium: 200x40
Large (banner): 468x60
Huge (banner): 768x90
Kelly "STrRedWolf" Price
Admin, Comic Genesis
Artist/Writer, Stalag '99 (WolfSkunks and Drygers, oh my!)

Any chance of a copy of the PSD file without the layer sets? I'd like to get a "clean" copy of the text with the 'glow' effect, but PSE2 won't let me blast apart the layer sets to separate the logo from the text...

All I'm after is the logo on the top of the PSD, with the layer set for it converted into separate layers so I can pull it to bits :)

Thanks!

Here you are, then...

(Copy and paste. The forum doesn't like exclaimation marks for some reason.)

Not to make things too much more difficult for you Joel, but would it be possible to have those files in a format that isn't "rar"? It's hardly standard.

I have an idea for a banner link. What's the font used in the ComicGenesis logo?

From 'fonts.txt' included in the Cgen logo pack:
Title font: MetroDF (http://www.freefontscollection.com/metr ... or+pc.html)
Tagline font: WhiteRabbit (http://www.squaregear.net/fonts/)

OK, here's my feeble attempt at link-button creation...

First the 88x31 version:

And the 200x40 version:

Any comments?

I hope you don't mind NQI, but I borrowed your 200 x 40 image - it was identical to what I wanted to make in my mind. Except I animated it. :) I gave you credit in my photobucket.

I think the loop is too sudden, Kolter. Try extending that last frame for about ten seconds, and then give it a fade out.

I agree with Vile Terror above. Like the button, but the repetition is too fast.

Nicely done, rkolter! I like it. What did you use to create the animation?
Now I'll see what I can do about creating some 468x60 banners :)

This is basically only a concept. I like the minimalist look, though.

I like that one, Joel! I think I would like to see the CG symbol in the center a bit smaller. With it so large in the middle, it suggests a bow in the middle of a ribbon to me. Otherwise, I like the subtlety of the design.
