CG FCBD 2006 Cover Voting (Deadline Dec 4th/5th PST)

Post by STrRedWolf »

We have two contenders!!!

KODAMA's stasis cover:
Image

Starline's globeshot cover:
Image

Both are great covers. I'd like all of you to consider both, and pick your favorite. The winner will have their cover be on the CG Generations 2006 comic.

ARTISTS: Please upload your 300-dpi artwork to your account in your /keen directory, and PM me the usernames. You may create that directory next to /public_html and /workspace.

If you don't like ether cover, well, you had your chance to submit your own last week (and for two weeks to boot).

D'oh...I knew there was something I was meaning to draw. Guess I missed the deadline for this.

Oh well, Kodama's is nice an' purty anyways...it gets my vote!

They're both excellent, but I can't believe there were only 2 submissions, though.

When I saw starline's, I realized there was no point in submitting :P.

They are both excellent, but I voted for starline's.

Arrrg, I love the dark eeriness of Kodama's Gen-chan about to be awakened/unleashed.Image
But then Starline's cover really gives out the sense of freedom we have here with Comic Genesis?AcK!Image

Starline's is nice, but KODAMA's is sharp as hell.

I really like Kodama's... but it looks a bit shoujoesque.

I don't know who to vote for. :(

I really like Starline's, but it doesn't make me think "Generations". It makes me think, "Space Police". Which is cool, but not the title of the book.

Kodama's stasis one makes me think in terms of generations, like awakening from a sleep chamber on a space ship.

Both are great pieces of work. But I voted Kodama.

Starline looks goofy. Kodama looks tight as hell.

I like both covers. Kodama's cover is really bright, which for me is somewhat distracting. So, I voted for Starline. :D

Hard to decide!

Post by MulletManTakeru »

Hard choice...though I had to go with Kodama's. It gives the image of something new being created or born, which is what we comic artists do :D

I don't really like this "birth" reasoning considering there will be a book next year too... Are we going to have it be "birth" every year because of the name of the company?

It's fine if you're voting for Kodamas, it's just that that reasoning seems a bit weak.

It's the first year, so the "Birth" would be more symbolic. The second year we can do different themes for the covergirl.

That's not the reason they're giving though. They say it's because of "Genesis" in the name. It's going to be "Genesis" every year, unless we change the name every year.

...We're not changing the name every year, right? :-?

Yes. Why not? It could be Comic Genesis: FIGHTING GIANT ROBOTS

For all you know...
