A minor Fox Pass
So... There was this banner ad for a web comic that said something like "all's fair in love and gaming" or some such thing...
And, being old, I figured they meant actual gaming... Even despite the reference in the name. Which, really, I didn't find that incongruous... I mean, I'm usually the GM, and the GM = God references are numerous and well founded...
I want to get it... I really do... Even if only because the first strip I liked to has this hawt girl with nice tits and a smoke hanging out of her mouth... But, sadly... comics where "Yeah, but only when compared to the GDM module in Iron Monkey Gold on the TwitBox platform, played in RGB!" is a punchline don't hold much appeal for me.
Still. This is strikingly similar (no pun intended) to how I was given what little interest I have in console computer gaming...
For me it was GTA III...

I should add that GMO is useful to me when I want to pick up what the latest buzz in gaming is but do not feel like wading through kotaku.
Of course to get all the context I have to wade through Kotaku or Wiki ANYWAY so...

Re: A minor Fox Pass
I lost a day to it, because I like the boss character so much. She reminds me of.... Me.
Also read a good deal of "sore thumbs" and "out there" until "out there" became too annoying. Well... Not annoying, really... I just didn't see it going anywhere interesting.

Bastard.
Fucker.
Shit...
So... >.>;; ....What's QC?
No... Don't tell me.
No, seriously... What's QC?
(actually... I may be safe from EEComics for now. It's loading hella slow, and my connection in SoCal is, as usual, the perfect embodiment of suck. Lounge has me, though. It... Uh... Started out kinda... slow... didn't it, though?)

I'm guessing QC = Questionable Content, which started off as an Indie Music themed comic with decent relationship drama and slight whimsy(the main character has an "anthroPC", a tiny Artificial Intelligent computer that walks and talks and has sever personality disorders). He's eased off considerably on the indie music references when he realized he'd created some great characters and that thier interaction and development was enough to "sell" the comic.
Also, the development of his artstyle is one of the most marked progressions I've seen in a comic artist. I check in on it every couple of days.
I used to read WAY more comics, but I've been slowing down too much, and now I don't even think I'm gonna catch up on most of them... I'm still 2 years behind on Sluggy Freelance... I don't even know if some of the ones I used to read are even up anymore like Polymer City Chronicles(PCC), Poisoned Minds, Angst Technology...
Damn it. Now I gotta go find out.

Re: A minor Fox Pass
raven got it
and EE is epic, it starts out super random then it gets a storyline after he starts to settle into it
umm, yeah I figured you'd like the lounge, it starts off a slice of life of a Japanese girl that gets her dad's manga shop
then theres some drama, some lesbianism, some sexual tention, then a little bit of feuding
the more drama

Re: A minor Fox Pass
Yeah, the drama made me stop reading The Lounge. I read webcomics to relax, and I don't really like reading stuff where I have no idea whether a given installment is going to be relaxing, or make me tense >.>;
A catboy is fine too. And I dancedancedance and I dancedancedance!

QC is my current favourite, the art evolution is incredible, really.
The gospel preacher, the hostile teacher/The face of God with an impostor's features
This is the prophecy - the cult leader/The people's temple, the holy ground, the war compound
Four-pound to rifles, disciples, the holy idles/Supreme truth, the cult leader with the green tooth
The multi-millionaire with a stare that can freeze troops/I program people to kill
The motiviational speaker, my words cause people to feel/It's mind control, let the cult leader guide your soul
Open up your eyes to the lies he told/The general, the chief, I be the political pioneer
The cult leader, you can believe in me, I am here/Bless the children, take you under my wing, shelter
Helter Skelter, this is it, you can't kill me I'll exist forever. Cult Leader!

then he got his nice new big ass mac with a HUEG screen and got even better 'cause he could crank the reso some more
then he just got plain better
and now that the story is all settled in

Re: A minor Fox Pass
The worst problem with QC is the time-frame. The current 5-year run covers about few months.

Re: A minor Fox Pass
Reminds me of Megatokyo... One strip where largo had broken arms advanced the time 6 weeks... I think more time passed in that one strip than in the whole of the rest of the comic...

Think the Unthinkable,
Do the Undoable,
"F" the Ineffable,
And Unscrew the Inscrutable.
Re: A minor Fox Pass
I kinda prefer that to comics that try too hard to fit the "real world"'s timeline, because things can get out of sync very easily. Like the artist going on hiatus in the middle of a Halloween party in the comic.

Oh yeah ... and Tsunami Channel, which is still chronologically in 2001 (which they hung a lampshade on once by having a character buy an iPod Nano, and then they got worried about causing a time paradox ...)
A catboy is fine too. And I dancedancedance and I dancedancedance!
