A New Ghastly IRC Channel

I have, with permission of course, created an IRC channel for us fans of Ghastly's Ghastly webcomic. it is at irc.sorcery.net #ghastlycomic.

If you don't know how to use IRC, you can read this here: http://home.epix.net/~ircadmin/index.html and feel free to ask any questions here in the thread. I'll answer them posthaste.

Let the congealing of nerds begin!

I'm going to make a request that anybody that comes in (if they're not doing anything of course) to please semi-idle in the channel. we have a lot of people coming in and leaving when nothing is going on only to be followed by someone else doing the same thing five minutes later. I'd like to have some sort of user base so that enough people are around to notice each other.

Yeah, I'd like that too. One can always just go and do stuff, come back, and catch up with whatever was talked about, no need to quit when away.

That way we can tentacle rape the idle members. :B

Awesome, I wonder why noone thought of this before. Can we get Uncle Ghastly to sticky this, so we can always check back on what the server and room is called?

There's been an IRC channel for ages, IIRC. I always assumed I was the only one here who despised IRC*, but maybe it didn't get enough traffic to keep it moving?

*Actually... I suppose a GGC IRCC might not suffer the same ills that makes me hate IRC in general. The first IRC room I was ever in, the one I downloaded mIRC for, was awesome. Intelligent people, fairly polite and intelligent conversation, I thought it was "wicked cool" (which things sometimes were, way back then.) But, when that community kind of fell apart, and I started looking for others, I quickly discovered that IRC was mostly about signal-to-noise ratios of approximately 1:789,540,329,075,826 and everyone talking at once - none of them on the same conversation.

But... Maybe one more try.

Least not everyone is talking all at once....AND they're on the same conversation.

IRC is a Finnish invention. How could it not suck?

Not a Nokia fan then eh? (Finnish) - And they have some of THE best Black Licorice ever. Naturally made with 4 ingredients: Molasses, Anise Seed, Wheat Flour, Licorice Root. Yummytastic.

I too am a Finnish invention (not to mention a blonde joke). Come here, big boy, and let me show you how much I suck.
