It's an actual fetish. Guys who dress up in body suits and anime masks and pretend to be anime girls. It's the Japanese version of transvestitism (heterosexual guys who get their kicks dressing up like gals).

That is some seriously creepy shit. The unchanging expression combined with a (lame) attempt to appear seductive. It's like a Real Doll has been taken over by the Pod People. Bleah.

There was a coffee table book on fetishes about 7-8 years ago called Deviant Desires and Kerry was featured in the section on mask play.

By golly I tell you, I've never met a guy named Kerry who wasn't a full on sexual deviant. Must be something about that name that makes them go loopy in the head.

hrm, i guess i'm unique here in that i've always rather liked the idea, though mostly because to my knowledge, one of the hallmarks of it is one doesn't talk while cosplaying with such a mask, and so of course that means that it's fully possible that the unchanging mask face is just what's hiding the excessive bondage gear underneath.

i mean, i don't see any reason why a girl couldn't partake of kigurumi play, either, cosplaying as a character of whatever gender (similar to i don't see any reaosn why a guy couldn't do it as a character of either gender), but then again, my first in-person exposure to cosplay was a convention where all the sexy Sesshoumaru cosplayers were actually female, all the sexy Sailor Moon cosplayers were male, and there was Man-Fei... so i'm probably fairly off-kilter where cosplay is concerned.

I think that Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha cosplayers that are male are in the vast minority. So you're not ALL that off kilter.

It's a body suit to soften the muscle definition and give a more feminine appearance.
