I read that when a guy ejaculates, he has to have some sort of 'recovery' time inbetween rounds, and that women do not. Is this true?

I guess it really all depends on the guy you're talking about. Most men do need some sort of time to um "refuel" as it were. After all, men have a limited amount of ejaculate so it takes time to produce more.

If you're talking about actual orgasms and not um "shooting a load", both men and women can have multiples. For men it is a bit rarer, while with women it isn't. This is also due to the whole ejaculate issue.

I can generally have about one orgasm per hour. Christine, however, can have twenty or thirty in that time.

Well, see, I noticed that it is possible to orgasm without ejaculating. I read this is due to the fact that only so much semen can be produced. After a while, guys start running dry. 10 - 24 hours can fill most men right back up though.

Generally speaking there's what's called a "refraction time" for male errections. The male body was not really designed for multiple coitus encounters in a short period of time. As such the body is genetically wired to maximize the time between orgasims in a variety of ways, such as immediately softening the errection which provides intense senstivity that makes most males not wish to seek stimulation during that time.

However, it is possible to achieve orgasm and maintain an errection(there are several ways to do this, have fun googling for them

), and it's entirely possible to restore your errection within 5 or more minutes of ejactulation. It all depends on who you are and your general libido... how much you can actually ejaculate is dependant on a variety of factors, but most mean can only really 'cum' twice within a 6 hour period... after that it's generally a negligible ammount of matter produced.

Your milage(and volume) may vary.

"refractory" refraction means "bent through a lens." While most of us are severely bent, I don't think that's what you meant there.

Men can learn to orgasm without ejaculating. That's what the whole kundalini thing is about. Some men learn the trick by pressing down on the area just between the prostate and the testicles. The idea is to pinch off the flow of ejaculate. Since I don't have that bit of anatomy, I can't tell you how well it works in practice. Other men have said they've learned voluntary control of the muscles in that area. One guy showed me that he could tighten the muscles and make his dick jump up and said it was the same set of muscles used in a more subtle fashion. I've also been told it's the same spincter that closes off the flow of urine, and one can at least figure out what one is trying to control by repeatedly stopping the flow of urine while taking a piss. Again, I don't have the required anatomy, so I'm just relaying what I've been told.

On other hand, I know for a fact that most women can learn to control their vaginal muscles, some to the point of being able to pull things up or push things out by sequentially contracting portions of the muscles (as I found out to my dismay the first time I pulled a condom off by accident), so I don't see why what I've been told by various men wouldn't work. They certainly seemed to make it work for them. I just have a feeling that someone with the actual anatomy would probably give an explanation that made more sense.

Seriously, the majority of research indicates that women can tolerate continuous sexual stimulation, and continue to orgasm without relaxing, probably because of a more stable hormone level. With men, it's not so much about ejaculation as it is loss of erection. The male body needs to "reset the system" as it were, before it can gain an erection again. Just from personal observation, that seems to take longer if the erection is lost post-ejaculation, rather than a blue-baller or half-stiffie. (Extremely technical terms, I know)

in my personal experience... its a matter of ejaculating without orgasm a few times, and once nothing but blanks are left, I can go to my hearts content and not really worry about stopping. Not sure if it works for everyone, but it takes about 30 minutes and a lot of care and being very careful to approach that point, but afterwards, i get about an hour and a half of any number of orgasms i could want without any ejaculation at all. only thing that poses a restriction at that point is getting physically tired, dehydrating due to sweat or other nutritional restrictions, or getting so light headed that i fear passing out...

and after that, the typical cool-off period applies, which is quite long in my case [5 hours or so]. Too bad it takes so much attention to get to that point, as i've never been able to get there with a partner, since the control is gone.
