Halloween!

The incredible lameness of imitation, by EoL: Halloween is not, as I may have mentioned before, a cultural feature where I live. But it's starting to trickle in. So, when I go about my way, I see small hints of it. -_- Some people have toy witches hanging from their doors. Toy pumpkins. And in front of a toy store, there was a giant toy bear ... bedecked as a witch. And wow! - this weekend they're showing the Exorcist, an Exorcist spoof, the Frighteners and a Simpsons Halloween marathon to celebrate the event.

Yeesh ... It somehow ruins my mood.

I changed my mind, I'm going to be the Conductor on the Train to Hell. Charon modernized a while back because of the increased volume, you see. Now instead of coins on your eyes, you gotta have that Ticket to Hell I posted. If you don't, they put you on the bus instead >shudder< If you've been really, really bad, they put you on the airplane. In coach. In a seat that's in the middle of an aisle that's 17 seats wide...

We also decided that all the Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses go in the Winnebego (a cheap and nasty type of caravan for the europeans reading). All of 'em crammed into the same one.

Anyway, the outfit is black suit jacket, white dress shirt, red tie, black long skirt, black boots. Black conductor's hat that says "CONDUCTOR" in red glitter letters on the gold plaque on front and red glittery horns poking out of the hat brim. If I can find my pocket watch and the right type of whistle, I'll wear those too.

Now I just have to remember how to tie a tie...

Nope. Just started with the "yer goin' straight ta HELL!" idea. Which spawned that ticket. Which then grew into the idea of why you'd want or need a ticket to get into Hell. Which then led to ever stranger ideas of what happens if you don't have your ticket. And well, on a train, it's the conductor who checks tickets, so...

A lot of my ideas metastasize like that. One of the better songs I've written started out as a challenge for me to re-write Tamlynn set in a night club. "Wait, wait, in a goth night club!" So I started with the set of lines:

So she's put on her black, black dress
With the velvet and the lace
And she's teas'ed up her mohawk high
And painted up her face

I'm convinced that most artists and musicians are at least mildly obsessive-compulsive, or they'd never follow through with any of their seed ideas.

Halloween was dead the moment that it became a crappy hallmark holiday

It need to go back to when people dressed up as ghosts and stuff and not power rangers . Makes me wonder though. What do Goths dress up as on Halloween?

Do they dress like regular folks or do they just put on more makeup and nail varnish?

I dunno... I think it's kinda like it is on Juiniper Lee... They dress as normal people and do "Normal Pranks".

I'd have dressed as Freddy except I'm getting wedded in four days and can't scrounge up a costume as I've already spent on my wedding gear. That and the red hair wouldn't match my wedding dress.

However I carved up two pumpkins and bought candy so if the neighbor kids come over for trick or treat I can dispense them some candies.

I love little children. So cute.

Well I do have school (but today I feel like hell
