It's so hard to choose just one...
It's a bit of a silly question, especially since it's hard to nail down just one, and on a forum like this, I suspect lust is going to be the big winner; but I just had to ask.

It was a hard choice. Lust is always fun, but I had to go with good old fashioned wrath. Mmmm, wrath.
"Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And 'a man's enemies will be those of his own household. He who loves father or mother more than me is not worth of me. And he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me."
And I'll give a hot, fresh, steamy cookie to anyone who knows who said that.

Could you clarify that please? My imagination is running wild. Do you mean lust in addition to gluttony or something else? I was always told never to play with my food.Moo Cow wrote:Lust with gluttony in a close second!
edit: I just read that completely wrong.. you meant gluttony was your second choice...sorry

Squidflakes, God-Emperor of the Tentacles.
He demands obeisance in the form of oral sex, or he'll put you at the mercy of his tentacles. Even after performing obeisance, you might be on the receiving ends of tentacles anyway. In this case, pray to Sodomiticus to intercede on your behalf.

Wrath is cool...? O.o I don't get it. What's cool about extreme and unconrtollable anger? I don't like losing control of myself in any capacity.
But "Heav'n has no rage, like love to hatred turn'd, Nor Hell a fury, like a woman scorn'd" is a heck of a cool line. And that bibl
e verse... Boy, there's no cruel, intolerant hatred like christian cruel and intolerant hatred.
I chose gluttony, because I'm very much in a mood to indulge my unnatrually excessive love for food today, but actually I'm no fan of the excessive greed inherant in true gluttony.
Lust and pride are wonderful things that everyone should enjoy to excess, and avarice is the American way.
Envy is another flaw that will suck the very live from you and leave your empty heart stuck to your bones.
I could tell you what's wrong with sloth, too... but fuck it. I'm tired. I'm talking a nap.

(From Warren Zevon's "Mr. Bad Example")
I'm very well acquainted
With the seven deadly sins
I keep a busy schedule
Trying to fit them in.
I'm proud to be a glutton
And I don't have time for sloth.
I'm angry, and I'm greedy
And I don't care who I cross.
I'm Mr. Bad Example
Intruder in the dirt.
I like to have a good time,
And I don't care who gets hurt.
I'm Mr. Bad Example
Take a look at me.
I'll live to be a hundred
And go down in infamy.
(From the Austin Lounge Lizards "Highway Cafe of the Damned")
Nothing was on my mind
But avarice and envy
Fornication, television,
Whiskey, Beer and Wine.
Waitress, waitress, bring me some coffee
Make it as strong as you can
Bring me a light for the everlasting night
In this highway cafe of the damned.

"It is the difference between the unknown and the unknowable, between science and fantasy - it is a matter of essence. The four points of the compass be logic, knowledge, wisdom and the unknown. Some do bow in that final direction. Others advance upon it. To bow before the one is to lose sight of the three. I may submit to the unknown, but never to the unknowable. The man who bows in that final direction is either a saint or a fool. I have no use for either."

True that... Anger can be very useful in any kind of fight. Anger makes people stupid. If you can get your opponant angry, it makes it much, much easier to kill him.HentaiCat wrote:....I can see how wrath can be useful in a war or something...

Pretty much right, HC. To quote the OED,CottonStar wrote:Um....why?Honor wrote:

Oh, I agree that they're certainly wonderful things, at least to a certain extent. But I've also seen that it's extremely easy for them to get out of control. I don't generally find being an egomaniac or wanting to nail anything and everything you get to be a good thing. Some people may find them to be virtues, but I, um, you know, don't. I don't want to say that people shouldn't take pride in what they do, nor should they refrain from wanting to bang that special someone (or someones, if you're into that sorta thing....), but I simply feel that some restraint is just as important. Bad things come when you lack it.Honor wrote:Pretty much right, HC. To quote the OED,CottonStar wrote:Um....why?Honor wrote:

Case in point, I wouldn't be here arguing the point if I it weren't for some bizarre circumstances involving an inability to keep the lust in check. But that's a very convulated story and all would best served if it was not told here.
Of course, I do admit that I have issues with both (Ironically, an excess of one and a complete lack of the other) and it kinda ruins the entire thing for me. So, as always, it's perfectly valid to ignore any opinions I offer.
Also, I think I'm gonna stop trying to offer opinions 'cause they always end up not making any sense.
